That wasn't me. It was a request from a listener. Thank you.
Yeah, it sent me off in a different direction. I got me thinking about Donnie Darko, the movie. Haven't watched it in a while.
Oh, mad world.
Mad world appeared in this.
Yeah,
Disturbed does a really good dark version of mad world, too.
Man, have you ever have you ever heard a better cover than Disturbed's?
Mad world. No, no, no, the
the Simon and Garth, I heard some girl on American Idol do it. And yeah, this was a lot better.
Ah, that Disturbed cover was freaking awesome.
Ask him anyway, guys. Good morning. Lots going on. I've got a sick kid here who
wants to be better for Halloween. So he's wearing his a astronaut costume and bed.
So that's what's going on in my work.
He's going to the moon. He's ready. Well, you sound a little under the weather too, Sam.
So is Lauren and so is Tiffany. Yeah, we went to a spreader of it. Oh, boy. Oh, dear.
He's very sick now. Oh, you said too. Well, I'd my nose just been running for like a week. I don't even know why. Yeah, I mean, I don't feel
starts, man. Oh, yeah. That's what they call sick. Uh-huh. I don't feel down. I don't have a fever. I don't have no other symptoms. It's just my nose run is weird.
He's too tough to say sick. He's he's too tough. I concur. All right. Let's say hello to a red chaddle and chef. Uh, and ask tech and then let's let's jump into it. Oh,
what are we jumping into? Well, the rest just jumped up morning from block height. He heard balls nose was running. So he can fix it. Yeah, not with the wrench. That's what a plumber does. Yeah.
Well, I'm actually in the doctor's office right now. He's sick. Why are you sick? This spreader rent? That's what we're calling next year. The alpha spreader events. Oh, boy. What do you think of that humble?
Yeah, I don't think that's a really great selling point. It's not. Oh, it's not a big. I want to do half an hour. Maybe the Bitcoin spreader event. Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful. I mean, all right, Chaddle. Got to spread the love.
I'm actually so. Hey, good morning. That's what it means. It's getting the love block height number 73572. Yeah, shout out to Terrence. Hopping on with Grant to take on Jason with the the million dollar bets. That's, uh, that's some way to step up, boys. And, uh,
Did you see that he just responded to Fred Krueger? Oh, he did know. Tell us. Yeah. And it just shows. So just for those who don't know, you know, Jason Calcanas of the all in podcast. He said that Bitcoin will
never reach its all time high again. He said it's going to zero. It's dying. And just sell for AI, right? Yeah, exactly. And so Fred said, okay, you say it's never going to tell you what, let's, I'll put up a million bucks and in 10 years. If it doesn't hit it, you get, you get my million bucks.
Well, Jason responded and he said, uh, let's make a 12 month bet. So now waiting for Fred to respond. But before he did that, Grant said, hey, I'll take Fred's same bet and I'll do it in two years.
And then I piled on that and I said, I will match Grant and meet his two years. So that's the, I offered him the 12 months bet for the price of the old time. Hey, 126K. He hasn't responded.
Well, there you go. Like see, it's just this is the point. It's like it's easy money. It's like, I'm in for $12.95 worth of sats.
Talk is just cheap. It costs nothing. But it's like, does he have balls? Does he have conviction? Otherwise, stop with the engagement farming.
I mean, that's really kind of all he's doing. And I know we're taking the bait when he says these ridiculous things. But I just, but I just can't stand it.
Anyways, it sort of just infuriates me.
But to be honest, Terence, that was a balls respond. When I saw that, like I didn't saw grants response, but I saw yours in my feet. And then I saw grants and I saw threats. And that's that's the kind of like it's sad that we that such a response is necessary. But that's one of balls big balls.
I don't know. Just to me, it feels like easy money if he would take it. I mean, there's just that that's just absurd that we would not reach the all time high in the next 24 months. I mean, probably it's probably going to happen in the next six.
Anyway, Terence, Terence, you're right and saying that it's sad that he's engagement farming and it's upsetting these guys run their mice like this. But the flip side of that is, hey, let's play the game. And maybe a public humiliation.
Is no bad thing in what bring Bitcoin conviction to more people. So let's turn the tables on them. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
I concur, doctor.
I mean, so I mean, here's another example. So Kathy Woods, one of her funds sold next close to $16 million worth of Bitcoin.
And so now people are like, don't that Jason Calcanis. That's why I noticed it. He quote posted it. So see, I'm right. Bitcoin is dead. Everyone selling. Look, Kathy Woods is selling $16 million worth of Bitcoin.
Well, these funds, they have like automatic rebalancing and her funds own over billions. I think like over $2 billion worth of Bitcoin.
So anyways, they're just grabbing on to whatever they can. Sorry, Chad. Did I cut you off? Were you still going?
No, no, I just look. I would take it one step further and say you got, you know, kudos to the community for stepping into that. But we do. We lose too much sight and get focused on price to me. You know, we've got TC here. So let him run as much on this as he wants or not.
But like to me, what's exciting is the difficulty adjustment and the hash rate and the having and what 100% put in place.
You know, we're only four having in. I mean, come on. There's like another 30. Not for exact number 29 to go. Like this is nothing. And like rent yesterday like, oh, 80 wish we'd gotten in it at 800. No, guys, we're in at 80. My gosh, we're so lucky.
I think that's the narrative that I get excited about. And you know, we're really lucky to have folks like wrench starting to really open up their eyes and really start to understand it. Not just come in for a trade.
When we reach new block height.
Tell time. Hi. What's up, Marzy? Just want to backtrack. I put it in the nest about 30 seconds ago, but it's already been buried twice by.
Well, by you actually you put two. But in the first in the first post up in the nest. I just want to make sure everyone to know is aware that simply Bitcoin is doing a meme contest in response to Jason. You can win.
Half a million sets to the best meme. So the post is in. Yeah, yeah. So sweet. Yeah, should be fun. Who's funding that Mars? Simply Bitcoin giving away half million sets to the best meme in response. A meme about Jason or something like that. I don't know. The post isn't the nest.
TC what's going on? I was going to say something funny about simply Bitcoin. But I'll hold it for later. Oh no, Boogie. Happy Wednesday. I just was testing to see if I was.
Yeah, that's right. We tried to get you up yesterday. I couldn't even see you. I mean this app is so glitchy. Yeah, you guys had me really weird. It's like you brought me up and it looked like it kicked Sam off the stage or something or maybe he ran. I don't know. Yeah.
Interesting. No, I was just going to say, well, quickly, just like a side note on simply Bitcoin. They contacted me, you know, through the social app, the direct message yesterday saying, Hey, Mr. Michael, we would love to have you on the show blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I saw what they were responding to a DM from me over three years ago.
And it was kind of cringy of me reading the thing, but I've just introduced him myself because I had been an a non before up till I guess it was, I guess it was three years ago. I didn't realize that's all it was.
And just saying, Hey, I'm a new Bitcoiner. I love your show. I'd love to come on and talk about Bitcoin. Just funny, but it was someone new who's running their app digging through old DMs and I don't know, it's just funny to see. I didn't realize it's only been three years.
All right. Back to regular programming.
This is true. Yeah, I know.
Rent for we with you. If not, I see dark up here. All right. Let's say a little dark.
Top of the day. Do you parents? How are you doing, sir?
What's going on? You have your seat belts on for the for the upcoming Fed, Fed meaning?
No, don't give a shit. Yeah. Yeah. Now I saw Canada raise their rates.
It looks like. Yeah. So interesting about Canada was I saw today the EU has revoked their invitation for associate membership. I don't know what that means. I guess Canada's without a home now.
Wait, they were was Canada part of the European Union? No, they were no day of flight for it. Yeah, after the fight with Trump, they applied to get get, you know, in with the EU.
And yeah, I didn't know where today. So I don't know what's going on. Who knows what is going on, but something's going on.
Hey, T.C. What do you make of what's just been happening recently, foundation and keystone and out today coin base? And I mean, it just it feels like it's just accelerating across the board.
Well, it was a couple months ago when a lot of this stuff was still just very new.
And a lot of people I was talking to were, you know, assuming that we were just going to see this kind of continue to expand.
I think if you want to understand the nature of the situation, it's basically that all software is full of bugs.
You know, we're essentially at this point in history where AI as of now, as of pretty much, you know, this summer was kind of a big shift.
And there was a real advancement made with a lot of like the Chinese open weight models and then a lot of the frontier models really stepped up as well.
And now at this point, it's just not even a debate that the AI can read code and write code better than humans.
So that means that all the human written code is now a fair game, you know, open season, finding these bugs, finding these vulnerabilities.
And that's what we've seen. I mean, the last week was wild. If you were following, you saw PHP with multiple vulnerabilities and node.js.
I mean, these are like, you know, software languages that software is written in, you know, something like 70% of the internet is running on PHP.
By the time you had node.js and you're probably talking about closer to 90% of all the websites on the internet.
So I guess what I'm saying is I think it's just not unexpected at this point to continue to find vulnerabilities when it comes to the sort of Bitcoin landscape.
We've seen a variety of things. I mean, the ledger thing where people were discovering rogue hardware installed in their hardware.
That's a whole nother sort of supply chain issue. But overall, I mean, I guess I'm just sort of oriented towards expecting to see just more and more and more of this.
It's not going away. If you're talking about open source code, it's going to be discovered and, you know, holes poked in it a lot quicker.
But expect the world, the entire world of software to get basically torn down and vulnerabilities and bugs found.
And then it's just a giant race of discovering these things, trying to patch them, people shoring up their software.
So I don't know if you want to look at it pessimistically, you know, everything's falling apart. If you want to look at optimistically, hopefully, you know, a year from now,
the world is in a lot better place as far as a lot of the software has been updated and patched and is more robust.
Something like that. That's that's kind of the framework I'm thinking of.
Is this also a wake up call for us just for our own security passwords to factor authentication, etc.
Oh, 100%. I mean, you should have been doing this stuff already over the last decade for sure using password managers and 2FA and some of these better practices have been around for a long time.
And if you're not doing those things, this is a wake up call that should kind of cause you to spring into action.
I think what's great about the AI is it's incredibly useful to just kind of check yourself in a, you know, moment of your own, just you and your, your favorite LLM, discuss these things and just go through and have real straightforward conversations.
Hey, I'd like to improve my security. What can I do? Hey, help me think through updating my home computing setup or my networking or, you know, maybe like could you would you want to go through all my apps and help me figure out which ones are security vulnerabilities in general for, you know, my personal devices like these kinds of things are really, really fruitful.
If you bring them to a very capable model, it'll go through and help you think through it, investigate audit, plan new strategies and implement those things.
So it's like an incredible tool for all parts of that process. And I think that's why maybe some people haven't kind of got their shit together over the last many years.
Is it's been an intimidating thing? I think that's another way to look.
