So she's only allowed to drive 36,000 miles in the three years that the lease covers
So you're getting a
streak on v14 that's 34,000 miles. I mean the average person at this point could probably lease a Tesla and
never have a safety critical intervention
from
for the entire period of their lease and I'm sure v15 will be even better
So yeah pretty crazy numbers and
Yeah, what's uh what's been on your mind David any interesting news items this week that you've been thinking about
Somebody just sent me that cyber cab coming back from F1 was over $70
I thought that was kind of funny, but
$70 holy shit. I think I think it was 77
But um, you know, really were supply and demand and you know a prime high money demographic meet all together
But I'm sure they got it, but
That's what I've been following
Close mostly today and that beautiful photo that was shared this morning of like 50 of them all lined up
Pretty amazing
And I hope they can replicate this pretty soon and in the other cities because I don't it seems like you know
They can have a damn near a thousand just in Austin, but in you know, my am in these other cities
They're still running two or three. I don't know if that's an am thing or just because they've been running so much longer in Austin or
Or what it is, but I mean nevertheless it's pretty exciting
Yeah, it seems like they probably have more cybercabs and model eyes in Austin at this point
Yeah, it must be because I mean it's a damn near one-to-one ratio and the state registrations and
You got to think about Dallas as has a shit ton of cars as well
So it must be more
Yeah, it seems like cybercab was really an inflection point for them in scaling and
It'll be interesting to see whether the other cities followed the same pattern once they launched there
But they did confirm Dallas is gonna be launching in November
That's gonna be exciting to see
It's interesting. They said anything about the freeway in Austin. I think they said that
They're gonna start operating on higher speed roads, but they didn't really give a concrete timeline for it
But yeah, it seems like the robot taxi service is progressing well
That's pretty crazy pricing though. That's kind of insane that
Someone even accepted that ride at $77
Yeah, and think about it all these all these people
Getting in electric cybercabs to go watch gas cars go around a track
Yeah, I mean
It's
Interesting times we live in for sure
maybe
In a few years they'll be watching autonomous cars go around the track if we get roadster FSD
although
You know, it's it's sort of interesting seeing the already did that in an Abu Dhabi
It's sort of interesting seeing the
The roadster in person at the Peterson. It's been on display at the Peterson Museum in LA and the windshield is
very
Very sloped I can understand why they were talking about you know, maybe a limited version of FSD
The cars just super optimized for arrow and isn't exactly
Set up the same way camera wise as the other cars
So it'll be interesting to see you know how they're able to deal with that when it ships but
It did seem to have a full sensor suite on the car it had a front camera side cameras
Even had an extra camera on the side repeater presumably to make sure the the door doesn't have anything
So yeah, it was really really that it looked better or worse to than than the photos
I would say it looked better
But you know the headlights were closed
We couldn't open the doors or anything so and it was kind of like in a corner
So we couldn't even really like walk around it
But yeah seeing it in person I was just like all right. I want this car
A lot of people
Even people I saw there said oh man, you know, I wish they produced the 2017 design I
Like that design better than this one
but
You know, I've always been a fan of sort of
Lamborghini's and that sort of aesthetic so
This is right up my alley. I mean, I love the 2017 design too, but
Yeah, I think this car is pretty sexy and much more modern looking
Did anyone
Did anyone else go see the road start the Peterson?
Well, maybe nobody else in LA is on the speaker board right now, but
How are you doing overly?
Yeah doing good
Yeah, this picture is we were seeing and and and they put up another I don't know if you follow her
George X but she put up another video of like people I think it was either arriving earlier or leaving and
they're just
the cybercabs are just everywhere and
Yeah, I mean I'm with David like I want to see them replicate this which it seems like they will soon
It always seems like Austin was the test bed and as they've
Implemented the cybercabs. We've just seen them
Grow I mean the growth has just been kind of insane. I mean I put up a post earlier
where I was looking at your tracker and
I was just I did actually like kind of lost count of how many robotaxies that they had deployed
in
This month so they they deployed 167 vehicles this week and 424 this month
That is just an insane amount of growth for a month and I still think this is the slow part
Because it seems like a lot of these are just going into Austin
right now
And then I put up another post to about you know, I'm really proud of the team because of the way they're able to
Is especially since some like ACL and X takeover
I when I was there I know some people had some high times and there were some surge pricing
but
You know for the wait times I think they've done a very good job with these big events and they can add this to
They can that they can add this to the this F1 event to that I mean
Even though the prices are high as David showed
Yes, 70 dollars is a little high
But you know, they're the only AV operator that's able to
Pick up and drop off and they added it this weekend, which I thought was
You know, I think that's a very courageous thing to do because we all know how hectic these events can get and
They were confident enough to do this and to work well and it seems like it's worked well
And then I just saw your your post or
You put that up there David that Uber so
So the model so the cyber cap costs $77 but Uber
XL was 116 premiere was 126 dollars
premiere SUV was 163
so
Yeah, I mean 70 dollars for cyber cap not too bad if those are the prices so
But yeah, I'm just really excited about the team and everything that's everything that they're doing
They're on a good path here
Yeah, with that context suddenly $77 is looking cheap
So I mean, this is a pretty good business model. They've got here if this was a car
They were selling for $25,000 it would be generating what a few hundred dollars a month in
lease payments financing payments and now you know
When they've got an event like f1 it's doing $70 one ride
So the same car off the line
With autonomy I think has the potential to generate much more revenue for them and
I agree. I mean, I think the scaling of Robotaxi and FSD supervised is
probably the most exciting story
That's happening right now in the Tesla world
I agree with Trab that this is still the slowly part
You know, we're still talking about one city
But it was interesting on the call they said we're
We're only doing Austin right now because we want to just flood Austin with cybercabs and then we're gonna go to other cities after that
but
I mean even just earlier this year
this service was more of a
Test run than a really useful service
You would get high service demand messages all time who close at like seven o'clock
It was really a serious Robotaxi service and over the last few months. It's gone to
Something that can actually take you to f1. It's now running until 1 a.m
You know last calls at 1 a.m. It'll run beyond that
It'll run in the rain
So you know kudos to the Tesla team. They've done a lot of hard work
And this is kind of what they mean by slowly than all at once
You start slowly you find issues you fix issues
But then once you fix the issues and you've got you know a thousand cars out there and they're all operating safely
Well, then you can put 2000 cars or 5,000 cars or 10,000 cars and
It's still gonna continue to work. You know, maybe you'll find a few more bugs
But once you get past that initial hurdle
It's a lot smoother sailing
So you know, they're saying like
Around Q2 of next year we think all the major technical hurdles are are going to be over and then the blocker is just regulatory at that point
They also mentioned that in
Q2 of next year
They're aiming to let customers start putting their cars on the robotaxi network run FSD
unsupervised on customer cars and
Allow customers to make some money basically fulfilling master plan part two
So that's a pretty ambitious target. They'd actually initially targeted Q4
So it looks like they're pushing it back around six months or so
But I'll give them a pass on that because
They're doing such an impressive job scaling the robotaxi service
But yeah, I think that's gonna be really exciting
David David what do you think about that announcement that you know
They're forecasting Q2 for unsupervised FSD on customer cars and
Robotaxi network access
I mean I think that's you know, I mean that's ambitious goal
But in a really cool way like exciting like I think they can make that like not not having doubt or
be impassimistic, but I
Thought it was beautiful what you said to go on back just to say the one sentence
But it wasn't very long ago that you were like fighting to get an unsupervised ride and you had to be in a certain spot
And it was only between the hours of like 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. And it was only week day
Yeah, remember when you called 50 cars looking for an unsupervised one or something
Yeah, yeah, that was just a few months ago, isn't it?
Yeah, so it's I mean now they're about to be in like 10 plus cities and
So I mean, yeah, it's like super cool. I was like turn around all at once and I mean, I'm victim of it too
But you know like we're having all these huge things and we keep asking for more and more and more
But sometimes we just got to be appreciative that it was like
Basically yesterday that it was you're fighting tooth and they all just just to get one and now there's
More than they know what to do with so I mean, it's pretty cool
And I mean, I mean hell if you can have unsupervised and put it on the network and stuff like I made the joke
Replying to Soror's post, but I might have to move to Austin if that's that ends up being true
so
Have you seen some of the updates to go more? I've posted it up top so everybody can see from Aaron and
Yeah, it's just the updates of their shipping are pretty crazy. I don't know if you've seen them
They completely updated the UI they now have GROC it says like on the screen like say hey GROC and ask it questions
They've done some changes with the blinker as well
They're just like shipping updates so often like I can't even keep up, but just wanted to get your thoughts
You can see review me here in Cyrocyte CyberCab. I don't know about monol y
But I thought was a kind of a beautiful compromise was my suspense or post about it earlier
But the turn signal noise is still on but it's only for four blanks
And then it goes away so if you're a long light or something it turns off but kind of turns on briefly
Like hey, we're about to make the turn and then it goes away
And I kind of think that's a beautiful happy medium though. They'll probably keep a good call truck
Yeah, the rear camera is a good addition
It does sometimes feel weird when you're in the car and you're like
Wait, what's going on behind me? There's no side mirrors. There's no rearview mirror
There's no camera app on the car
so not necessarily
You know
The most important thing for them to focus on
Which is I guess why I wasn't there on launch day, but it's really cool that they're listening to customer feedback
And I remember David and others mentioned it's kind of weird not having the blinker sound. They went ahead and reacted it
So that's what's really fun about this time and being an early adopter and
Obsessing over this stuff is you can actually shape the future of the products
You can actually just say hey, you know, this needs to be better or I wish it was like this
Yeah, Grock wasn't in the model wise. It was only in the cybercabs
So it's good to see they added that
I think Grock is really going to be the primary interface to control these robot axes
But yeah, they've made a lot of progress
