to the moon. Super excited to be chatting to you guys about all the updates that we have so far.
We've also got Jordan here to speak with us today about the announcement that just went out.
But I think it's important to start from the top because there's a lot of new people coming in as
well. There's a lot of new people flowing in. Dogecoin has definitely evolved as an ecosystem
in the past couple of years. It is a community and an ecosystem that has been around for over a decade now,
which not many crypto industries, crypto niches and crypto ecosystems and communities can say,
which makes us super unique. But now I think is a turning point for Dogecoin. I think that
the next generation is just around the corner of what we're building, we're contributing to the ecosystem,
what the core contributors of Dogecoin are contributing to the ecosystem, exploring new
developments to Dogecoin and supporting new builders, which is awesome. But today is about DogeOS
and what we're pushing live. Super exciting, super super exciting. And we're going to hear from
half a little bit more about ecosystem and building on the chain why to build in the ecosystem.
And what benefits you can drive from that. And we're also going to hear a little bit from the
thesis perspective from Jordan, why Dogecoin, why he's building here in the first place. But I'd
love to just give a basic intro for everyone who's new. I'm seeing a lot of familiar faces in the crowd.
And yeah, thank you so much for the Dogecoin at Dogecoin account for joining us as not as a speaker,
but just here to come and listen unless you want to give us a little bark or a meow from behind the
scenes over there. No, it's not happening. All good. Yeah, feel free to chime in with a couple of
barks or meals. But yeah, also to have all of you guys on, my name is James. I also go by Builder J.
I like to consider myself a decent voice or advocate of the Dogecoin ecosystem, but that's not why we're
here. We're here to talk about DogeOS, which is a project that we've been building for quite some
time now. I think we've been out of stealth for quite some time. And it's something that we've put
a lot of research and development into, but also a lot of love. We're building this as something
for the community to culminate and be able to utilize their Dogecoin. And for those starting
at a very, very basic level, for those who don't know, Dogecoin is a UTXO chain. It acts the same
as Bitcoin. It does not have smart contract infrastructure. You cannot build smart contracts on
Bitcoin or Dogecoin. And therefore, it's very hard to be able to utilize it in ecosystem. Everyone
sees Bitcoin as a store of value. Dogecoin came after that. It is the biggest meme in the world.
We believe it's the most decentralized currency and cryptocurrency on the planet. There's no VC
backing behind Dogecoin. It's completely community driven. It's completely decentralized and it's
distributed everywhere. A lot of people hold an own Dogecoin in their centralized exchanges.
A lot of people have held Dogecoin for years and years and years dating back to 2020 previously.
Some people even hold it from the day it was created, which is absolutely insane through the ups and
downs. DogeOS, the idea was born a couple of years ago, led by Jordan, who will hear from in a moment,
is the smart contract infrastructure built on top of Dogecoin to be able to service utility to
bring utility and opportunities to people who want to use Dogecoin for the community of tens of
millions of people that hold the asset and can't use it. Whether that's defy, whether that's
creating yield opportunities, whether that's payments. And how we're doing that is building a
permissionless infrastructure as an app layer on top of Dogecoin that allows builders to come in and
develop smart contracts on top of the underlying infrastructure. We also are the builders of My Doge,
which is the biggest self-custodial wallet brand in Dogecoin. That was kind of the first step.
Maybe Jordan, maybe you can go into a little bit about the backstory of My Doge, not for too long,
but tell us how you guys got started and what the story is behind My Doge because I think that sets
things up really well. Yeah, it was a while ago now. Four years, five years, I can't even remember
when Bill, Alex and I were thinking about doing something in the Dogecoin space.
To us for obvious reasons, some of the people here, it's Dogecoin. It's the greatest thing to
ever come out of this industry, this cryptocurrency concept and it has a global community of millions,
tens of millions who knows. It's one of the beloved memes of all time, but there wasn't a lot of
coordinated effort to build businesses or answer this kind of thing. And we were like, you know what,
let's do something special. Let's do something different. Let's just see if we can just start
building stuff in the Dogecoin world because that's the coin that we love. That's what we see,
this massive community that's not really getting the same treatment as these other ecosystems in
terms of just influx of capital and investment and all this stuff to get people to build.
And so, why don't we just try something? Let's just make a pool wallet just for Doge and put it on
the app store. And yeah, Alex and I got to work, coding, coding, coding. One day, we want to
want to go on the app store and we're like, you know, hello, Dogecoin world, like people like this.
And you know, enough people were like, yeah, we like this. This is cool. Keep building.
And we've been here ever since. I mean, that's part of the short, the short of it. We just thought,
like, the wall, it was just the first thing we thought about building in the Doge space. People liked it.
We've continued to build it ever since. But I think very quickly, we realized we wanted to build more
stuff, but we didn't really know how. And the stuff we wanted to build is stuff that is in line with our
love for decentralized technology and not being able to build on chain applications kind of
stopped us from building a lot of creative ideas we had a lot of years. So we would come up with all
this stuff. Oh, what if you could do this with Dogecoin? What if you could make this? But there
either, you know, wasn't like a way to do it. That was still self custodial or decentralized or even,
you know, legal in a lot of cases in a way that you can do with smart contracts. And so eventually,
we're like, look, we have way too many fun ideas. Surely other people have awesome ideas too.
Why don't we just make it more easy, possible, safe, and so on for everyone to just build stuff for
Dogecoin? So I mean, it was really not simple. It's not like some crazy master plan. We just
wanted to build cool stuff. So we decided to make it possible for everybody to build cool stuff.
And I mean, the way we went about it was really just kind of based on the stuff we believe in. I mean,
we're all OGs in some sense from crypto, whether it was Dick Coin, Ethereum, and so on.
We want to do things right. And ultimately, I believe that Dogecoin should be competing with
Ethereum, Salona, or whatever. I think it's the biggest opportunity in the entire industry right now
is just empowering the Dogecoin community of millions, 10 to millions of people around the world
who are so passionate, who are united through a meme, through something silly, through
something that is inherently good and special and I think good for the world. And just giving them
the tools, the capability, the opportunity, both literally but also financially by creating an
ecosystem and making it possible to build businesses and transact and attract investors and whatever.
Yeah, I mean, I just think empowering this community is the most exciting thing you could
possibly do in the industry right now. And so, yeah, I mean, that's why we're here. That's why we're
doing it. I think, you know, year from now to years from now, 10 years from now, whatever,
Dogecoin will still be one of the biggest things in the world, but I think it's going to be in
an even bigger way than it is now where it's like, you know, you could build on blah, blah, blah,
but you're probably going to choose a build on Dogecoin because at the end of the day,
people will say it was obvious, you know, it was it's really the people's currency. It is the
original meme chain. It is the thing that really ignited so much of what this entire industry is
about, for better or for worse, but I think in the case of Doge, the the apparent goodness is still
there. And if we all unite, we all build crazy stuff, we all just get Doge moving and flowing. I mean,
that's, yeah, I mean, that's a cool part of what we could do. So, I mean, that's a story from
let's build something cool. How about a wallet? Here we are now. Yeah, and it just gets cooler and
cooler, right? I mean, you're so right. And something you mentioned is tools. But before we get to
that, like, billions of billions of dollars worth of products and like even Web2 businesses, such as
Robin Hood were built off the back of Dogecoin, basically, like their success was catapulted off
the back of Dogecoin. That's the power of this community. And you know, I did join at the
inception of the idea of DogeOS, this team. And I kind of was Dogepilled originally by Jordan.
And I think that one of the parts of of his story that resonated with me is that, oh, Alex is here
as well. Shout out, Alex, is that the original wallet products was built partially by the efforts
of the community, the community feedback, the community rallying together and wanting more
products and tools to interact with Dogecoin at its core. And I think that that's something that we're
going to talk about a little bit here today is that we're essentially, I'm gatekeeping something
that was gatecapped for a while, which is the builder public testnet, which is now officially live.
And you can find that through the docs on our website. Something that we shared with a close
couple of builders in the ecosystem, something that we kept very close to our hearts for a while,
just because this is a completely new set of infrastructures, a completely new tech stack that's
built on something that really hasn't been explored in the same way before.
So yeah, Alex, since you're here as well, I'd love to get your thoughts on exactly
what this means for builders and the permissionlessness that we're approaching the release of this
public testnet with. Yeah, let's go. Very excited for this announcement. As many people know,
we've been building for a long time. And it's good to finally ship and get it public to everybody.
It's always been permissionless. You know, it's just official now. So anybody can build a lot of work
when into the documentation and the tooling as well. So yeah.
100% bro, 100%. And like, I think something that is super important about what we're doing is that
this version of our public permissionless testnet that builders can now use and interact with.
And obviously build their apps and tests is setting up the release for when main net of Dojo Esco's life.
Right. So the final instance of this public testnet is here. And yeah, any encouraging words that you
want to pass on to builders that we're looking at building in the Dojo Coin ecosystem or maybe even
exploring integrations with Dojo Coin. Yeah, well, it's just like you said with the wallet,
you know, the community is such a big part of the products just given their feedback. So none of
that's changed. You know, my DMs stay pretty open. So if anybody's interested in building, they can
always reach out to me directly. And I'm there to help. And, you know, of course, if there's any issues
ever, I'm basically 24 seven on Dojo Esco. Let's go. I think we all are at the moment very
losing sleep. I think something that's like someone who's really important to hear from, especially
on the builder side is Hough. He's been leading all of our efforts interfacing with all of the
builders that are in the ecosystem currently that did that were granted that access early on that
were kind of guided through the process of integrating and building on Dojo Coin. Hough, what's
the ecosystem you're trying to build here? What's the mission behind it? And what do you think is unique
about what we're doing? Yeah, I mean, we're just trying to build the ecosystem that Dojo's always
deserved, right? And that means that means culture, that means DeFi, that means AI, that means
everything. At the end of the day, it really just means utility for Dojo Coin. Dojo Coin
deserves a real economy? I think what surprises me still, I think since we kind of started building
Dojo Esco in public, people have come to the realization that Dojo Coin is still there, is still
kind of operating and thriving, and it's still this decentralized ecosystem where people hold and
talk about. Jordan, what's been this conference? What's been the feedback from people? Because I'm
getting a lot of people that don't even know that Dojo Coin is something that can be built on, can be
built with right now. People are super surprised. They just think it's this meme coin sitting in
the back of their wallet that's collecting dust. What's the sentiment right now that you feel?
And how do you think we're going to change that? Yeah, I mean, I would say sentiment is super bullish,
and I think over the last couple of years, people are just like...
