who was married and has three children was in the salon one day. And she mentioned being at Target. And I know that that had been happening at Target in the last two years, noticing men, or one man, or two following a mother and children around the store. And some kids have been grabbed from from Target, I think especially. So she was aware of this and she carries a outside pistol. And not the same thing as a small gun. I mean, a pistol or is it different? Who wants to answer the question? Yeah, that's that's right. Okay. Well anyhow, she said, well, I carry one and I looked at her and I said, you know, you don't she said, yes, I do. She said, I looked around one day and saw this guy following us and just lingering behind but walking slowly every hour we went down. She said, I gave him a look. She said, I didn't pull my pistol out, but I gave him a look that let him know not to come near us. And I said, oh my gosh, because the thing is, I know this gal has a temper. I mean, she's not going to take gruff off of anyone. So it does kind of scare me with a woman who might have an attitude and not that she would pull it out and threaten anybody. I mean, I certainly hope not and I don't think she would, but it just it just kind of scared me a little bit to think that there might be some out there who are kind of saying, I dare, I double dare you, you know, and I was just wondering if most of the women who are, I think brave enough and probably smart enough to carry some sort of weapon for protection are from the Midwest more than from the North or South. That was all I wanted to ask. Well, that was a that was a lot of terrain. Right. So first of all, if you ever consider doing it, then you would go down to a really good range and ask the people there to help you select a firearm that you would find you're liking it. When I say help you select that, I mean, they're going to walk over and grab some anti. This is perfect for you. No, they're going to bring you a bunch of stuff to try. So if you're going to carry, it's like anything else, you really have to train. I mean, you can't just go to the store by gun, strap it on and walk around like you and call that self, call that self, you know, preparedness. It's not. There's a lot of stuff that comes along with it. And if you ever did consider to do it, there are some really good concealed carry weapon classes. And I really recommend those because they teach you when you can and can't brandage your firearm, you know, legally. You get a lot of trouble with a firearm, despite putting your hand on it or pointing at it. I mean, there's a lot of interest that sees to it. It's more complex than just carrying it. It's like anything else. In order to protect yourself, you have to know the tool you're using. You have to know all the implications of carrying that. So my little sister, my little sister carried her whole wife, my wife carries eye carry. You're not out in the country. I mean, I am not interested in my age. Besides the fact that my friend and I laughed and we said, well, it's hard enough to write neatly now if I handshake a little bit. So it would be very dangerous to put a pistol in our hands. No, I mean, I and plus where I live now, no one is allowed to have guns. Gosh, we can't even have candles that we can light, you know, which is good because there are some folks here, even though they're able to get around and are not over in the other facility. This is a very nice, you know, retirement place. And I'm glad that maybe they have, maybe some of the men have their guns, you know, locked up in the trunks of their cars, especially as they're hunters. But I don't know how many of them still go hunting. But yeah, my father and my husband were great hunters and fishermen. So this going on in the ocean, I'd go out too as long as we weren't. Bottom fishing, where they threw the anchor down and we just sat there and rocked and rocked. And I had to drink numerous coaks and eat crackers. I'm sitting up on the upper, what I've forgotten now, what they called it. Gosh, anyhow, um, the bow, the hole. No, no, no, well, no, the bow, not the story. I want to say the flying bridge is that what they, it was a 35-foot birch drum and diesel engines. My father had the caterpillar engines put in when he both purchased the boat. Then when he got old and sick in my husband, both the boat from him and we renamed it and we would take my father out. I mean, we would have to put the nurses on board to and everything. My daughter was a young child at the time, four or five years old and she would go. And I'll be up there on the flying bridge because I couldn't stand it even just sitting down on the, you know, the regular part of the boat. But, but I would fish some also if we got out in the ocean. Then and we kept moving, that was okay. Anyhow, no, I just, my question really was not whether I should purchase one. And I know that, yeah, I know that what you need to do if you were going to, like what you were saying, but you have, but I'm just wondering, I imagine in the, I'm going to rephrase my question or my supposition. I think in the south, maybe not in North Carolina, maybe up in the mountains, yes. Deeper south, I'll bet you there are a lot of women and and who do carry guns because their their families, they hunt it, they fished and they were taught, you know, safety and all of that. I just don't know around big cities where we've grown up and it wasn't bad when we were growing up. It's getting worse now with everything going on. But you, you just, yeah, I, you have to be careful. You have to have your head turning at every point. I just am assuming that that in the west, southwest, maybe southern United States, that there, and I don't know about California. They probably aren't even allowed to go into guns. Just California even sell guns the way that state is. But, but I'm surprised they do that they allow any citizen to buy, what you get a gun permit to buy one in California. But I just think that they're probably more people who are self protected like that than maybe around where I am. That's that's all I was thinking. And it's crazy, you know, there are places where you have to get a permit on a firearm. You have to have a permit to exercise a constitutional right. And eventually they'll extend those permits to speech. Another area is really, it's really dangerous position to be in to live in a state where they will take away something that shall not be infringed. Well, you know, this is where we may disagree. I think one should, we have to go take a driving test when we turn 15 or 16 to get in a car that can kill and maim not that they don't. Teenagers as well as Middle-Asia as well as older people. You know, and we have to renew our driver's licenses. If you're younger now, you don't have to do it, but every six years, once you get up beyond a certain age, maybe 60, 65, it used to be long time ago, four years for everybody, every four years. Then it went into five, six, then six years. Now it's five years for older adults. And I was surprised. I thought that I didn't really, I could have done it online. You can do it online every other year or every other time you renew. I thought maybe once, once reached a certain age that they would require you to come in, I was worried that it might be take the sign test. So I was studying the signs. I decided to go in. And I did have to take the eye test. And I wear glasses. So I had no trouble with that. But I was surprised that they would not have made me come in and take the eye test. My eyes could have deteriorated between the last time I went to the ophthalmologist, which was just six months ago, because I wanted new glasses. But yeah, I think North Carolina has eased up in some ways on that score. But I don't see anything wrong with getting a gun permit. I have the right to get one that would be no reason. If I were a felon, I shouldn't have one. I don't think, or I've gotten out of prison. I don't know. We could disagree on that. And I haven't really thought long and hard about it. But all the top of my head, as someone who wants to feel at least it's pretty safe, someone who's got a pistol or a gun, it's nice that I know that they had a permit. And around here, I think you do have to take classes first. I've been blessed to grow up in the state where I've never had to have a permit to save my own life. So I consider it a constitutional right to be able to do so. I have had to face that situation while I was carrying. We can agree to disagree. I'm glad I live North Carolina for right now anyhow. Yeah, my mom lives in North Carolina. So did both my sisters. Well, I have two sisters, I have four sisters. One is missing, she's been missing since January. She's been missing since right before the inauguration, from last inauguration. I accept that she's gone. No number of bank accounts have been touched. It's not like, you know, the same sheriff's department, same police department, same FBI that's out there looking for some news broadcasters mom in the same state, never really paid much mind about my sister did bring out the FBI. They didn't turn over every leaf in the neighborhood looking for and didn't care. She didn't matter to them. But she wish she was carrying that day. Where she is, don't understand it. How old was she right here? She's four years older than me. So she would be 68 now. But I don't, I'm never going to see her again. I've already accepted it.
