company course and that's really how to protect the public and protect individuals when we
don't bring charges. Well then how are investors and frankly Congress to know whether you
have even undertaken such an investigation or whether such an investigation has resulted in an
outcome. Again part of I think that if the trust in our capital markets is being a
couple of people also when we close investigations that do not result in either litigation or a settlement
that that's really between those various registrants or market participants that it's been closed
and they have a right to say it between closed. We are rightfully concerned in this chamber,
Lisa my side of the aisle about the weaponization of the Department of Justice but I'm increasingly
worried that we should be more worried about the weaponization of the securities and exchange
commission. It looks more and more like not an impartial regulatory body protecting investors and
consumers but a regulatory body that it's using its power to silence and emisorate political rivals
of the current president of the United States. All right all right all right welcome everyone.

me on and it's honor to be up here with all these great folks. Okay busy I'll give it back to you.
Thank you busy go ahead Ann. All right well this is a momentous this evening we're going to be talking
about this MMTLP fiasco. Has anybody heard about this for the last four years maybe it's been a big
deal and there's been thousands of victims and hundreds and hundreds of spaces this is a financial
crime so big that according to the folks that the government they don't know what to do nobody knows
what to do. MMTLP began as a dividend share to torch light energy holders as an economic claim
to oil and gas assets that later spun out into a non trading next bridge hydrocarbons. According
to official filing and press releases the issuing company never intended these dividend shares to
trade yet they got lifted on the over the counter markets by unknown parties and attracted tens of
thousands of new investors and on the 9th of December in 2022 two days before the announced last
trading day. Finra imposed a rare U3 halt citing settlement and clearance uncertainty and unlike
halftime other takers trading and MMTLP never resumed positions and assets were frozen. MMTLP
was exchanged for non trading next bridge hydrocarbons comment shares which investors cannot sell.
There's been lots of evidence of counterfeit shares lack of SEC and Fender enforcement and
freedom of information act revelations fuel the trapped investors fight for transparency.
So what gives if there's nothing wrong at the SEC and Fender state wasn't a big deal why won't
they release the total share count why have the investors been trapped. So without that Laura we're
going to turn it over you because you had a great interview with Greg McCabe's airing this Friday
on going roads with Laura Logan we are here tonight to give Greg an opportunity and you to give
the rest of us this week pick and maybe some of the things you didn't discuss and a few
of us will chime in with our questions so Laura go right ahead. Yeah Laura she dropped down she's
glitching out but let me get her up here just give me a second. No problem it happens. Sometimes
maybe going out and coming back in. She's there. I'm here yeah I'm here I'm not very good at
technology so I canceled my co-hosting somehow but if you can hear me that's fine. Yeah so you know
I just want to say that this is I think what makes this extraordinary is the people because you know
everybody from Greg to Jamie Garcia who's hosting this who was relentless pain in my ass
pounding me forever to do a story about this without that level of commitment it you wouldn't be
as far along as you are and I'm not saying that you know just a flat of people it's not it's not normal
it doesn't usually happen there isn't this level of commitment over a period of time and it was
one of the things that moved me to to work on this and try to figure it out because as you as you
all know you know this is the the financial world is complicated and it's not my strength I'm you
know I had to learn a lot but there were a number of people I'm sure some of them are on this
space Jamie you connected me with is it Jillian or Juliana sorry Juliana and Matt and you know a
bunch of other people who've been working on this for a long time and who had the patience to bear
with me and educate me and and I you know I would just say that I mean as a journalist you know trying
to understand all of the details and figure out you know who's selling the truth who's not you know
what's right that process is complicated but when if you do your job properly when you get down to
the you know the bottom line right you get down to it through it all you should be able to simplify
anything in terms that people understand because you don't have to share every detail but you can
share the ones that really count and so I think you know for me the things that really count about
this story on number one this is a story for for every single person that wants to trade on the
stock market that wants an opportunity to do something with their hard earned money it's built
into the American dream the ability to improve your life and if you you know the idea is that if
you're if you're honest and you you work hard enough at and you do the right thing you try to make
smart decisions that you're not going to get screwed right and and we can't have a system like
the financial markets where where normal people get screwed and nobody does anything about it but what
I learned about naked short selling and short selling and you know and all these other things is that
I mean like to me the stock market is no different to the to the cartels it's like the cartels without
the blood and violence right but it's just as corrupt I mean I just can't believe how how corrupt the
hedge funds are and and all the different things that you can do to play to exploit the loopholes
in the stock market but that's on the side that's just my probably very naive personal amateur
observation about this because when you really start to see what was done is the if you like I'm
going to simplify this for for the people who don't know the bad guys out there who trade in shares
that they don't actually own those are the guys that do the short selling that that that borrow
shares that that they don't actually physically possess and then trade on them and then bet against
the company this is the antithesis of the American dream I don't know why it's allowed because it
it is so exploited and so abused the list of companies that have been pushed into bankruptcy or
you know wiped out because of this kind of brutality in the market the big the big guys the big
hedge funds and the big boys all with the money you know sort of it's basically like the casino right
rigging the game against the little guy and that's what I don't like about it at all that's what
makes my stomach churn and I'm definitely a David versus Goliath right I'm on the side of
the David's and not the Goliaths but you know this is so in a sense for me one of the benchmarks of
what makes an important story at 60 minutes was always the question of you know how many people
does this affect is this a story that although it's a terrible story or a worthwhile story it
really only impacts this one family or this you know one one person one company whatever it is or
this is a story that resonates far beyond the people that are directly impacted and has
significance for you know for a broader audience beyond that and 100 percent this is a story that
absolutely affects potentially affects every single American because your ability to go on the
stock market to take a risk with your money and to and to play that game should not be at the
mercy of people with money who can use dirty tricks and foul play to work against you that's the
whole that's why insider trading is our public companies is illegal right even though I know
that's not always enforced so my my point is just that once I really began to understand the dynamics
of this and I saw the commitment of the people involved and the patience of those who are willing
to work with me including Anne you know to help me understand this better then it helped me
it helped me recognize the significance and the importance of this story and I apologize for
taking so long to do it but independent media doesn't pay well and investigations are self-funded
you know and they take they take time so that's not an excuse but what I so when I came to understand
the story just for those just to make you know to reiterate in case there are people on this space
who don't really understand it you know you it begins with a Canadian company that wants
that is Canadian trading in Canada wants to get on the NASDAQ right I mean not surprising over
the counter shares is you know is that's not the holy grail right you want to get on the NASDAQ so
they do a reverse merger with with an American company and by reverse merger and I'm doing this I
know most of you probably know what all these things are but I'm just doing it because I want to
make sure that everyone can follow so
