Iran next steps: Deal, War or Regime Collapse

President Trump at the United Nations General Assembly, issues yet another ultimatum to the regime in Tehran, the Islamic Republic regime in Tehran, get in line, accept the deal or we are going to basically end this regime once and for all, are we headed to some kind of deal, a good deal, a lukewarm deal, a bad deal, are we headed back to an escalation between the United States and the Islamic Republic in Tehran? Or, and it's not mutually exclusive, could we be headed down the road and when and how towards a collapse of this monstrous regime? I'm Dan, one of the co-editors of Middle East 24 and we have with me, Havi Buzo, our co-editor and chief, we have our great friends and partners at VisaGrad24, and we have an activist who was until recently on the ground in Iran, Rayan is with us and we have a lot of people listening and people interested, so Havi, Adam from VisaGrad, why don't you guys take it over as we have a lot of important things to discuss where things are headed with Iran, deal, war or regime collapse. Thank you very much, Dan, just checking immediately. Can you hear me well? Yes. Excellent. Well, in that case, as you said Dan, there is a lot of things happening. I think it was yesterday, if I'm not mistaken, that there was another attack against a vessel trying to pass through the Hormuz straights and Iranian attack naturally. And this tit for tat that has been going on in the Hormuz straight now for months, you have the blockade by the US Navy against any ships going to or from Iranian ports and you have these strikes from Iran, or rather the regime in Iran, against these vessels that are trying to take that route near the coast of Oman, trying to hug the coast as much as possible and try to squeeze through, but from time to time, these ships do get attacked and then often the US responds with air strikes against various military positions especially on Kashm Island, but also other locations that are near the Hormuz straight. So it's still a very unclear situation. How long this will go on for? Naturally, the economic blockade, this naval blockade of Iran is causing extreme damage to their economy and this situation cannot last forever. So there will have to be some resolution at some point. Ryan, are you with us? Can you hear us? Yeah, I can hear you now. Thank you very much, sir, for having us. It's a pleasure. And, Hi-V, you are also with us. You have been observing what has been happening here in the Hormuz straight and in this conflict for quite a while. Where do you see this going at the moment? Thank you so much, Adam. And of course, then I think it is very timely that we're doing this live today. So much has been happening, but I do want to start by taking a moment. First of all, I want to thank everybody for listening to us today. We know that the Israeli ambassador to Washington today had another, and I want to share this on a personal note, but I think it's really important because what happened to his family is just very devastating. His another one of his sons, Nairia, was critically injured today while serving at the IDF. And we pray for him. We want to share our solidarity with him and his family and the state of Israel because we're fighting the same evil forces that only know the language of terrorism, murder, violence. And it's really, I think, timely to talk about this, giving the developments that are happening across the world and specifically in the Middle East. And of course, in Iran, where we can zoom in a little bit, but we know that Hamas and all the terrorists that have been active across the Middle East North Africa region are all supported by the Islamic Republic, regime in Iran. We've had ambassador later on few once ago in an exclusive interview. And he did speak about his oldest son, Moshe, who was also killed by Hamas. So today, we just want to pray for Nairia's recovery in healing. And with that, I actually want to talk about the situation with the Islamic Republic regime of Iran, because we know that Ryan, you came from Iran actually in 2026. So you have a lot to share with us about what is actually happening inside Iran? What are the numbers of real, just the casualties? The people who have been actually murdered by the regime, we know that there are numbers up to 66 or 67,000 people murdered. And only a few days for peacefully protesting. But I do want to actually take a moment and also talk about what's been happening today, because as of these developments continue to happen, and we saw that the Iranian president actually did address the United Nations General Assembly very shocking to me. I can't believe that we still will allow this guy, who is ahead of a regime that is responsible for reverting innocent people to come and speak at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. It's really astonishing to me, unbelievable. But today there was a new big wave of sanctions that just hit, started being effective against the Iranian regime's aviation. And the US is basically sanctioned and is taking place, suspending Iranian Airlines flights from operating globally, starting today. And there's a number of countries that are joining the United States in sanctioning Iranian aviation. So with that, I actually would like to talk to Ryan. If you, Ryan, can share with us just about your own experience witnessing the atrocities that have been committed by the Islamic Republic regime against basically peaceful protesters. And we can, from there, just talk about what's going on currently in terms of the sanctions, the talks of President Trump when he talked about annihilating the regime or not. So let's start the conversation. Thank you very much, Madam. First and foremost, I thank you. Thank the panel for having me. Look, let's start with what happened during the January 8th and January 9th, 2026, when it was the call to protest by the Shah of Iran, his majesty, Raza Shab al-Ali, the second, who, the call that the millions of Iranians estimated like more than 45 millions of Iranians responded to the call and took to the streets, according to the thousands of thousands of eyewitness videos that you saw, millions of people filled the streets across Iran, across the neighborhoods of the capital, just name it from the east to the west, from the north to the south, everywhere, every corner of Iran, every 31 provinces, every 1,200 cities of Iran. So in my home province, the Mazundaran province, the northern part of Iran, I witnessed in sorry, for example, and they just started one hour. We were there two hours before the call to protest. It was 8 a.m. And they started to shoot people, the people who were in the front rows, they did the gosh shot at, and we escaped. You saw the videos of mine, God, getting viral, and also being shared in the media. And also in my own hometown, Salvat Koo County, I saw with my own eyes, they brought ambulances, decoy ambulances that I saw in uniforms, the dark green uniforms of the IRGC in the behind the blurred windows of those square shape ambulances that they had nothing to do in terms of shape with the regular ambulances in Iran's emergency system, healthcare system. So these were old square shape ambulances that you could see through the windows, the blurred windows, the dark green uniforms of the IRGC, they were ready there to come out as an ambush, as a decoy. You also saw before the beginning of the call to protest, which was 8 a.m. that they brought fire fighting vehicles, not just to help these ambulances were fake, these firefighting vehicles were brought not to help anything, not to extinguish any fire, just to wide watch the blood right after they killed off the protesters. So they were ready. They were ready since the beginning. It was all planned. I call it a genocide, you know why? Because a genocide is an intentional targeting of a category of the people, like such as people who have a certain religious or political beliefs. And these people were secular, patriotic people who were mostly proponents of Iran's native polity being the monarchical institution of Iran. As you saw, they chanted Javichar, meaning long lived the Shah, which represents the battle between the clerical institution and the monarchical institution, the clerical institution being the regime and being centuries of the stone age ideas that destroyed Iran and the monarchical institution represented by the Palavi dynasty, representing modernization of Iran, rejuvenation of Iran, just name it. Anything that Iranians asked by Iran's future, anything that Iranians want for Iran's future is represented by that institution. That is why Iranians chanted Javichar, and that is why the regime did it, tolerate that and killed them off. And it was planned since the beginning, before the days of the call to protest. So, and the bringing decoy ambulance and bringing firefighting vehicles to wide-wash the streets from the bloz of the protesters, just name it. I saw everything. And also I saw some families victims of the families of the protesters who were actually arrested the previous nights by the Islamist regime. They actually asked, they started to cry and ask from the Iranian protesters to go and rescue them, to go to the police station and free them. And we went to the police station.
