We, how are we doing with people that are coming up to the stage and who want to share why they are a grizzly goose or grasshopper?
I've got two folks in the request right now. We got Ramon on stage and Shaolin I think is on his way too. Let's see if it goes.
Let's go Ramon Ramon. How are you my friend?
Hey Claude, I am blessed and welcome. You hear me okay?
I sure can. Okay.
So who do you have and why?
Yeah, I think for me graciousness is important. I think if you know reading looking at the Bible, Jesus says you know you're heavily father will forgive you if you forgive others.
So I think it goes along those lines and the reason why also I do it because I know I'm a faulty person Claude. I recall I was doing some volunteer work and leading a group of young men.
The guy was carrying a ladder Claude and he's walking the ladder down a college dorm. You know kind of low ceilings. He bashed into the exit sign.
I could have told everybody you know made it a big deal. Yeah, but I gave him grace covered him. I fixed it back and it cleaned it up told my leadership.
I didn't tell my leadership, but I covered him and gave him grace because it's been done to me. So beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.
Are do you have one of these characters? By the way, the goose.
I have one with me right now, but I mean I followed of course online on the site. Of course. Yes, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Who do you line more with the goose grasshopper or grizzly bear or all three?
Oh Claude, you had us like saying pick my favorite child. I know. I know. I know. I know. Probably I'd say all three, but you know if I'd build deeper into it, I'm sure I lean to one of the other.
Yeah, I'm going to call you a goose. I'll take that because you are full of grace, my friend. You are full of graciousness. And I've known you for a while. So thank you for bestowing that on to me.
Thank you for sharing with our community here. Yes indeed. All right. Who asked we got.
I Claude first time. I love to meet you virtually, but it's a little late over here in Singapore, but I'm over here in token 2049.
Oh my. So excuse me if I sound a bit tired, but for me, I always love to show up for my V friends because Daniel, Jeremy, Gary and I yourself is a real pleasure to speak with.
I actually align a lot with gracious goose to be fair. I actually thought the iconics I was actually gifted on behalf of Gary, sweet swan, but to be fair sometimes people get confused and so these things happen.
But nonetheless, I always like to be candid and genuine, but it does really align. So for those who know me, I try to be as graceful and gracious as possible by holding space.
I think the easiest way to be kind is allowing people to step into the light and be themself. And I think grace has a lot to do with that. So I think you honor the words very carefully, but also mindfully to words matter.
And I think you're so eloquent to have stated it in a way that people can relate. And so yeah, no, I love grace because I think it's how we allow others to come into the light.
And so I appreciate this moment to share with you and share my thoughts on it as well.
That first and foremost, thank you. What you just did, like Ramon, as you gave this community graciousness. And I have chills. I literally have chills and I'm not cold at all listening to you.
And also the fact that it's what is it to 11 in the morning there? It's late. So I want to thank you.
And and share from all of us like thank you for being here. That's I really appreciate it. Awesome. Anyone else Jeremy?
Yeah, let's say hello to Wes. Thank you for doing the stage. Wes, are you?
All right. Hi, sorry. Can you? Yeah, loud and clear. Sorry. I don't normally do public speaking. And this is a lot of people. I'm normally behind the audio board to be quite honest, but I just want to thank my sweet swan that's been sharing me.
And so I found V friends because of me trying to learn how to articulate my emotions and how to sort of give that to our students here as well.
So I stumbled in like the cool late man. I'm telling you. And so she accepted me and showed me the community.
And I found a lot of friends along the way when I was just looking for acceptance. I get it.
And by the way, you're great at public speaking. You did a great job. And I know what you mean. Sometimes I get really shy too.
But this is the greatest thing about this community is like you have all already created this psychological safety and the space where you all belong.
I'm coming into this as a newbie. And I want to thank you. I also feel very accepted here. And everyone has been extremely gracious with me.
So thank you. Thank you, Wes. Jeremy, before we go on, I wanted to share something that Ramon brought up, which is religion and spirituality. And I'm not going to go into all of the religions because I did.
I did a deep dive in all the religions do speak about graciousness. Of course, what I love though in terms of the common thread and every major tradition or religion.
The common thread is that favor isn't earned. It's offered by someone who could have withheld it. Does that make sense? It's offered. It's not anything you earn by staying late at night and doing 16 hours of work. It's not earned by, you know, holding the door open necessarily.
It's given by the person you held the door open for. It's offered by someone who could have withheld it. Does that make sense? I'd love to see some emojis if I'm if you guys are following great, great. Thank you. That helps me. Yeah, I just was like, all right. Yeah, favor isn't earned. It's offered by someone who could have had held it. All right. Who else we got? And then we're going to go into other we're going to go dive deep like I told you we're going to go into some people that are known for being gracious.
Being gracious and some gracious acts and I've got a couple of things I wanted to share about Mr. Gary and his ability to really extend graciousness as well. What do you got, Jeremy? That sounds perfect. So for our friends on stage, please feel welcome to stay if you're in the audience and you can get away from wherever you're at. You want to join the show. You can hit the request button in the bottom left hand corner. We'd love to hear from you. That's all a request for right now, but cool.
But yeah, I think I think we can carry on that last detail that you just kind of double clicked on is really significant and I'm buying time in that great. We got Natalie coming up on stage. We got two more.
Let's go. I'll just say like that idea of like graciousness delineated from other variations of this is comes comes down to a lot of the freely given.
And it could have otherwise been withheld, which which I feel like is so related to what we talk about in terms of expectations to like that really that really landed with me.
I want to pass it to Natalie and then we'll go to Raffca welcome up. How are you?
Hello, this is my first time here with you guys and I'm very honored. I have this is like being gracious right here right now with you guys. I am very thankful.
I've been listening to Gary for quite a bit and from him I heard from you guys about you guys and I am so thrilled.
I have been into a journey lately of networking and meeting tons of amazing people.
And I am so glad that we have spaces like this that we can connect and network because you never know.
That person that you might be speaking might be your next networking company that you're going to be doing handling business.
And that's what the gracious part about being in a room full of amazing people learning about the products and what they're doing because might be something that they are doing that you might like doing it and you start doing it too.
So yes. So I am very thrilled.
I love doing spaces and I highly recommend people come over less or more spaces because this is where the connectivity begins.
That is right. Thank you so much for sharing. I love that this is your first time. That is by the way.
Like talk about Captain courage. That is what it's all about people coming on feeling comfortable to share. I always say there's no wrong answers. This is just a place safe space to share to talk to ask questions to give advice. We are.
Again, thank you. All right. Who we got now.
Now we got Raff Gone stage. The sweet swan welcome.
All right.
Everybody.
Hello.
Claude Jaron Daniel Gary. Be friends chat. Thank you guys.
This is just such a thing to look forward to every week now.
And I don't think I have the words to be able to say. Thank you enough because I know the community needs it and loves it and wants it.
So I really just that's all I want to say and I just am grateful for everybody and thank you West for the flowers.
And everyone's just doing such an amazing job sharing all the positive and I tear up a ton and it just makes me happy because I know it makes.
You happy. I know it makes Gary happy and I know it's going to make the world happy. So thank you.
Thank you so much, Raffka. You know, I can remember I'm not sure how many people on the on the show right now were at any of the Vcons that we put on.
But I can remember all three of them sitting in the audience and listening to get I have chills really when I'm about what I'm about to say.
And listening to Gary say to everyone say to that entire stadium of people the entire audience.
This is about you and the community and if you make one friend here, you've done yourself right.
That's what it's about. I mean, I honestly have chills. That is what it's about and talk about.
Graciousness. I mean, Gary, I have you've all seen Gary be gracious. Obviously with with with V friends. I think is an enormous, enormous way that he showed it.
But I mean, I've been at Vayner now for 12 and a half years and the way Gary shows and displays graciousness without expectation is incredible. It's in a conversation.
He is always the bigger person, always, always, always the bigger person. I have seen heated, heated conversations where anyone else would have spoken up in a way that would have increased the defensiveness of the person talking.
And I have seen him just be the bigger person. I have seen him literally give credit away, give roses to people. When of course he could get the roses if he wants. But you know, that's not what he's that's not what he's he's like.
Now there's this other story I want to tell you. I read about it. Maybe 13 12 years ago was on it was on LinkedIn and it was Gary and he wrote about the Ricky Henderson effect.
Did anyone see that on LinkedIn and if not, we'll find it. We'll share it again. Long time ago. Okay, now I don't really know baseball players, but I happen to have known the baseball player named Ricky Henderson because Gary and I are of a similar age. It's called Gen X.
And he was a kid and he was sitting by the dugout and Ricky Henderson was up on deck. I think that's what you say is on deck. He's swinging to bats. He's got a weight around the bat.
And Gary's staring at him and he looks over Ricky Henderson looks over at Gary and he winks.
And from then on Gary was a die hard fan of the Yankees. He winked. The guy winked. He winked.
That takes nothing. He winked. And you all have known Gary. You've seen Gary whether or not you can see him wink on screen or you see him wink in person. He does that.
That to me is God. It's filled with humility.
But B, it's absolutely making the other person feel seen and respected.
And that is unbelievable. I just want to give it up for him because he was. I mean, that's why we're here, right? Because Gary is incredibly gracious person and that is filled with humility and all the other good. So I just wanted
to have one thing as well. Yeah. My God. Please. And if we should raise our hands, let us know. I'm new here. So I just figured out how to like since I had the
Please, please. Who are you? Who are you?
So I just Ramon, Reg Ramon, Reg Ramon, Reg Hey, Clive Ramon. Hey, yeah. Just two things I want to add. One, I was at Vcon. I had the honor to host it. One of the years and was amazing. You know, work with the Vayner speakers team. And to your point, Claude, I think what one person said is there's very few
mega celebrities as Gary is who would stand for hours. I think was it. He had three times four times where he invited everybody to see him. Whoever was in line, Gary would stand on line.
Of course, he had to move things along with how he did it was that way that all the good people do they make you feel like you're the only one, but there's time constraint. So it's a smile and you feel served, but you got to keep moving.
So that's one experience that I've received just to see him in line. I think they had three or four schedules.
