I feel figuring a lot of people,
I think this is your cap,
you think this is your first time using X
in a while actually.
This is my first time using X.
I'm a little one of those older,
all these.
It's no worries, it's no worries.
Okay.
Penox, I've handed you the co-host
because you're gonna be co-hosting with me
for the whole space after,
because Shemim can only do one hour
and then we'll wing it together if you're not.
I'll wing for him.
At least this year.
Like, let me give, let me just give.
After the space is weird,
sometimes you wanna make someone a co-host
and then you have to give them speaker first
and then their co-host.
So yeah, that's how it is.
So in your ways,
appreciate you all being here by the way.
Wing for Abteen still sent him,
I know Sai had sent him a text message.
So he knows the time.
So I'm just here.
You're doing that at work.
I'm everybody who's listening high.
Yeah, so finally we bring Canada
and the US together for Iranian,
something I've been trying to do for a long time.
And finally we get to do what thanks to Sai Ed,
Abteen and then Kathy who is trying.
So it looks like Pens is not connecting.
That's my other speaker,
but yeah, I will give her another mic again
and whatnot in the meantime.
Okay, maybe she'll connect now.
Sai Ed, what I'm thinking is this,
Abteen might be late, which can happen.
So I'm thinking as I'll start,
then I will,
and then I will,
what's the word, I'll do Kathy
and then once she's done,
Abteen should be here by now.
Would that work for you guys?
Sure.
Yeah, I'm fine with that.
Good morning, everyone.
My name is Sai Ed.
I'm in Southern California.
It's right now,
seven, eight in the morning.
Happy Friday, everyone.
Yeah, sure.
Glad to be here with you guys.
So we are getting so close to the November 3rd
and the US for the midterm election.
So yeah, I'm fine.
Just I want to say hi to everyone
and then we can get started.
Perfect. All right.
I'm just waiting for Pennfront to connect again
because she's coming from wherever she is
and needed her to be the,
the co-host for today.
All right, Sana as well.
I just spoke to her, okay.
Yes, you are very close to the election
and it's pretty hectic for you.
I wonder I'm,
we've been following it here too in Canada just so you know.
Yes, this election is very, very important in the US,
especially you know, the situation about the Iran
and also the all the domestic issue that we have
in the US with this radical left.
So yeah, everyone is right now focusing on that
and I'm very positive at this point
because in the community that I'm leaving,
I've never seen this momentum before, you know.
I've seen so many people are there.
First time voter and it's good, you know,
to see all these signs.
Even in California, I'm living in California.
One of the most blues,
blues state but it is not actually blue
because of the different counties
but ultimately, you know,
the problem that we have here about the water ID
and all those stuff that we're going to talk about this today.
So that's why it's blue,
but naturally, California is also red
which is if we have the water ID in California,
law, it's going to be red.
I don't have any doubt that so, but yeah,
this is unfortunately here the government in California
because we have the governor who is supporting these staff
so we need to make a change here.
I agree with you.
I've been following it very closely as well.
Yeah, so I got it, so I got some news.
So here's how the coast are going to be.
So it means going to do for one hour
because then she has to drop for a prior commitment.
The next coast will be dear pen friend.
I promise once she connects,
but I want to thank Sanna's who was able to do it.
So, no, okay, okay.
But yeah, pen friend will be here.
Don't worry if she can, but I appreciate it either way.
We are waiting for Abteena's mentioned
but he'll wait, once you guys are ready,
I think we have everyone good to go.
So let me just put the rules in the space
because we don't want this to turn into a barnyard brawl.
We want to make sure so otherwise.
And I'll put in the nest as well.
So that way, rules are respected.
And I thank you all for coming.
I cannot do this without any of you.
As I said, I'm just someone that just hosts
and then you guys, give me one second.
Okay.
I have a good picture but it's not coming up.
It's gonna take some time with me once.
I just gotta answer one thing.
All right, perfect.
So are you guys ready to go?
All right, perfect.
Okay, first of all right.
TGIF everybody, good morning,
Sopa Kera.
Wait, what's up?
I'll start again.
All right, TGIF everyone, good morning.
Sopa Kera, Boca Tau, if you're Israeli, Jewish.
And boom, Mattin, if you're in Quebec, Canada, like I am.
You know, we speak French here.
I'm your host, Drew of the Drew experience
and Geopold experts, so many experts, so little experts.
But today's space is a special one, a pre-Halloween special
because we kinda have to spook you guys
with the situation of what's going on here.
And I first wanna say this idea came to me
after meeting Syed and Abteen in a previous space.
And I'm someone that likes to build bridges and coalition build.
You know how I play it with my space.
And so I spoke to my other guest, her name is Kathy Lempert.
She's the president of the Mount Royal Conservative Association,
which is my writing.
And with that, we're here to talk about,
get out to vote to vote red on November 3rd.
And also how Canada can wake up,
especially with the Iranian, Canadian community that we have.
We have 300,000, our electoral, our election stats are putrid.
That needs to change and I feel instead of complaining about it,
why not bring ideas in order to get everybody mobilized
and give them the knowledge.
And before you do that, in case, just in case you forget,
I have a YouTube channel, as Nino was saying,
it's to link in my bio.
It takes two seconds to like, share, subscribe,
and hype the video as I try to be a voice
for Canadian conservatism with Iran advocacy,
fighting the red black alliance.
Also, pins to my profile.
I have a buy me a coffee link.
If you're feeling generous to donate,
the donations help fund production costs
for conservative independent media and English,
around the inadequacy, which is very,
which we don't have any of, and we need, and what not.
So if you're feeling generous, any donation helps.
But with that, I'm joined by my two.
And we have a third coming.
He'll be on his way.
We've sent him multiple messages.
Abteen is on his way.
I want to welcome Saeed Denad, who's the chair
of the Iranian-American, Republican Council,
Associate Delegate in the Republic Party.
And as mentioned, we have Kathy Lempert,
who is my writings president and also dear friends.
She's also new my late mother.
And I'm always convinced that my late mom,
it was meant for her and me to meet through that.
So yeah, I want to introduce the guests.
So before we go to Kathy first, I'll let Kathy introduce herself.
And then I'll introduce Saeed.
And then we'll truly get started with Kathy.
So Kathy, take the intro away.
Tell people who is Kathy Lempert.
Thanks, Drew.
First of all, I thank you very much for including me
in this panel and being invited to this.
I think this is so important.
My name is Kathy Lempert, as you've heard from Drew.
My profession, I'm a CPA.
I got involved and I'm currently the president
of what we call in Canada.
It's the acronym is EDA.
It's our Electoral District Association.
The Electoral District Association
is the liaison between the district on the ground
in our area, which is in Montreal.
And it consists of four.
Let's say burrows or municipalities.
And we liaise between them, the people on the ground,
and the federal conservative party directly.
And then what we do is we are a board,
we're consistent of, we consist of about 20 members currently.
And we are behind the scenes of the candidate.
And our mandate, besides governance,
is fundraising and to be election ready.
Those are the most important parts of our responsibilities
is really to get election ready.
So we start our, we like to start our fundraising,
get to know people in our writing.
Our writing consists of four, our district.
Sorry, a writing is provincial and federal is district.
It consists of four very large areas,
one of the largest in Montreal.
And the, what I like to call one community,
I don't like to separate them into communities.
I like to, and I talk about this with our board,
is we're one community with a variety of cultures.
And this is how I like to build our community as one.
And what we need is to respect each other's
cultures and what I find is very important,
is respect our cultures and learn from each other
rather than being called different communities.
We have a very large portion of the Iranian community
in our district.
And what we have done to try and get people out to vote
is we started way before the election time
and we go door knocking, but it works a little bit differently
here in Canada than I know it does in the US.
So that's a bit of our background for now.
Unless Drew, you think there's anything else I should go into
about how we've done that in the past.
Yeah, I mean, so just to give a,
because since you and I are very close and like we are,
we are, I mean, one thing that Kathy and I have tried to do
in order to coalition build is we try to talk
with different city counselors, the mayors
of different parts of the island of Montreal
and especially because you know it's an island,
you know, we don't really know the South Shore or Laval,
but we try to talk to them, we try to see
like how we can bring in more membership
for the conservative party donation.
And that's something that we try to do.
Oh, there's our other guest, I'll give,
I'll throw him a mic, you know, just right in time,
but we went second here, but no Kathy, you're absolutely right.
And I think the best thing about you,
what I've learned from you is build the relationships come first
and then the policy comes second.
And if we can find the right people
who are policy-minded to help us,
then we have a winning formula in order that
to keep a machine working like clockwork.
Yeah, and it's also very important
to have an open discussion and always what we like to do
and I'm sure others do as well is we don't want to close
the door on discussion.
If you are in Canada is a liberal versus conservative,
I want to know what your thoughts are about being liberal,
why it's important to you and then open the discussion
as to why we are conservative and sort of enlighten each other.
So it's an open discussion without,
then that's what democracy is about.
It's not about disliking each other
and saying we're better than you or you're better than us.
And I feel that and I'm sure a lot of us do,
it's become extremely divisive,
this is what I would say in Canada and device them in the US.
It's become, it's created a lot of arguments,
fighting us against them, them against us.
And it's important to me to build the bridge,
but also open the door to communication.
And like you said, Drew, it's important to build that relationship
so that there is an openness and trust
that we're not here to go against each other.
We all have the same goals.
It's a matter of how to achieve them.
So I believe that the conservative party for me
is where I think we can achieve the greatest goals
for Canada as a whole and for all Canadian citizens,
where others have different beliefs.
So opening that door and having the discussion
I think is one of the most important things.
I definitely agree.
Before I continue, I just want to set the rules of the space
because I forgot to do that.
You see what happens when I get so.
