AI Summary

Devon & Shiod and Friends discuss green crypto markets, Friday banter, and why human actors outperform AI in creative storytelling. - Crypto markets are showing all-green candles again, and the crew is optimistic about the "printing machine" being back on for the ride to the moon. - The hosts playfully debate Friday nicknames like "Freaky Friday," "Frisky Friday," and "Feeling Myself Friday," leaning into the lighthearted weekend mood. - Devon admits to "A.I. psychosis"—the looping feeling of talking to a screen after four years of long creative calls, joking that the real danger starts when the screen talks back. - A single six-second shot took an entire day (and bled into the next) to perfect, showing how grueling the push for perfection really is. - Devon shares that working with AI changed his earlier assumption that it could replace parts of the industry—AI still can't replicate the unique choices, flavor, and spice that a real live actor brings to a story. - The human touch is the real differentiator, especially for a hand-drawn collection where storytelling depends on real talent, skill, and instinct. Conclusion: In the AI era, your edge isn't faster automation—it's the irreplaceable creative judgment and humanity you bring to the work.

I'm glad you came I'm glad you came I'm glad you came I'm glad you came I'm glad you came I'm glad you came My union never be the same I'm glad you came What is up everyone and welcome to Shiod and friends on X Today is Friday, August 21st, 2026 We're exactly 11 days 9 hours and 51 minutes Still D.D. and Y.C How's everyone doing today Yeah, they got to run these mother flipping comments We're only sitting at 35 and the charts are green as heck I don't know what that going on in here in Devon But it's a good day to have a good day I'm blessed I just got to run these comments It's a very good day to have a good day The sun is shining The animals are in the field Crypto is nothing but green candles It's blessed It's too blessed to be stressed You know we knew it was coming Or those who get paid And those who get paid are the ones that get Well, I'm not going to finish that The ones that I mean if you want to finish it you can No, I'm good The ones that don't pay You know when it's time to pay they always get gay It's another one yeah Yeah, I was going to say the ones that get paid Or the ones that get laid but anyway I digress Well it's Friday you know I think they call it Freaky Friday Frisky Friday Yeah, I won't complain Yeah, there's too many terms Which one is your favorite? Depends on the week I had I like like feeling myself Friday You know just like Hey, we all need a little bit of TLC And alone times sometimes There's another one What's TLC? 10 or 11 care Well sometimes we just need V to do that one thing Just that one you know Because it's today Freaky Friday And I know it's two on nine in the afternoon But it's funny because I don't know if he means the moon Or the roar or the growl Like it could be either The mo Yeah, you know exactly what he was talking about Tell you how this And be like He needs to do this sound and then get off dash But when she says what sound it is The mo He said the mo He said it I didn't even hesitate I'm just kidding You guys Freaky Friday Apparently it's Freaky Friday I guess you didn't know Grab the button nevermind We got green candles We're living in a sea of green The printing machine is back on But the good one The one that we wanted to be on this entire time And it's only the beginning It's going to be a really wild ride To go to the moon What else is there? Guys I'm going to get a little bit of A.I. Psychosis A little bit Uh oh Yeah, oh no We're here for you, Devon You know it's crazy when you're talking to the screen Like you can hear you and absolutely can't And you guys You know you're getting loopy when you start like breaking out into random songs That pop into your head And most of the time orders on the discord call And you're talking to your screen And sometimes you're like wait are you talking to me And I'm like no I don't know I guess I'm definitely not talking to anyone So that's that Well we've been on a call for four years You gotta really worry about it If the screen starts talking back Then you know you're in deep doo doo Well I've nothing that's deep deprived yet But we're getting near that point Where that might come into play Uh if yesterday and the day before Were any indication on The grueling process that it's going to be To strive for perfection in this contest It's absolutely going to happen because Yesterday we spent an entire day Going for literally six seconds of one shot And it took the entire day And even bled into today We just now got that clip And uh Yeah, we're missing We're missing You know there was something you said Devon I caught a bit of your space When you were talking about how valuable Real live actors are Bringing their talent, their skills, their background, their ideas And that really made my heart sing Because you know this collection Is hand drawn And we really do value that You know human touch And I think there's something to be said for Of course the amazing technology is evolving so quickly But when we When we really do want the best of the best It still comes down to the you know The people who are the real human beings Who can really bring that story telling forward It's beautiful I couldn't agree more And honestly like I was Before diving into this I was all of the notion that this could Absolutely eventually replace Portions of the industry You would obviously have to do that You would obviously have your outliers who are so Having the funds and backing to do RL but after working with this One thing that I don't think I mean it's I'm never going to say never Because it's absolutely possible But all AI as far as I know Is going to be acting this same So you really have to like go through I'm speaking about it from the film perspective You really have to dictate Everything that if you're working with a really good actor Those are the choices that they're making That is the uniqueness of flavor The spice that they're adding to the creation And right now You know I struggled with the writing I believe if anyone's heard me on other Spaces talking about the script process The dialogue is the hardest part for me Because you have to write in two different voices So not only do I have to do that Which thank you order for Assisting me in this process But now I have to create different flavors for different Characters in their performance And that has been very useful Obviously I'm not the one on the screen doing it But I have to think the thoughts of those characters I don't know if that's making sense V probably for sure understands And I'm trying to put it in a way that's digestible But essentially like whenever you're on set And there's multiple people in a scene Like no two people are going to act the same They're going to bring their own personality Their own style, their own approach Their own decisions To the set So that's one of my favorite things To the set So that's one of my favorite parts Is to see what everyone brings You know the Tom Hanks is famous for saying All you have to do is show up, know your lines And make a choice And the AI doesn't make any choices It does what you tell it to And I don't see that changing In the near future At some point it might But if you're using C-dance, C-dance is the actor Like I don't know It's absolutely possible If anything it doubled down on my belief that The industry is safe and sound for the time being Because you need that collaboration You need that the mixed personalities And perspectives that come together and shape The movie And I talk about Filmolot because that's my background But it relates entirely to community And how communities operate And how collaborations form And how those collaborations are amplified By the unique perspectives Of all the people participating in them So Hey Devon Hey Devon Hey I'm just thinking when you said that Is it possible somehow some day some way That you can take some favorite film clips of The actors or whatever Put those into an AI to develop a persona type of thing Yeah And then incorporate that into what you're doing Yeah, absolutely I mean you can kind of do that now Ish but not on the video side So where you get the results is in Either the editing of the film There's some things that can help you through that process Or in the writing of the film But as of right now there's as far as I know The consumer level There's nothing that you can actually Like build a model to learn a personality And then inject that personality into a specific character that you prompt But yeah absolutely I'm sure it's only a matter of time The fact that we're talking about it means other people have probably Thought about it which means there's probably someone trying to do it already So yeah What was the movie with Val Kilmer Like post-tumus Really They put him in the film Uh top gun Maverick Was that it? Okay Yeah That was like one of his last movies I think it's that I have no idea what the technology was But that was quite remarkable Um and I can see a Like a cool trend where we would see actors who've already passed away Sort of reappearing in new stories That would be pretty cool I do too And I talked about it a little bit I think what's going to happen is the same way that Walt Disney use a licenses name For other projects to give them credibility Pretty soon For regulations, lean up I guarantee that some of the famous actors Going to get called in for commercial They're going to be on a set and instead of showing up They're just going to lease their license Or give a license to their likeness And be basically AI generated into whatever the set commercial Or project is at the time Which is on one hand it's cool On the other hand it's like Is that going to take away opportunities from new people Yeah would they When new people have gotten that opportunity anyway Maybe not who knows I mean I kind of felt the way even in the Irishman when Scorsese D.A.G. To Puccino And the Nero Because I was thinking back to the days where like the Nero played young Brando And Godfather too And I'm like that was a breakout opportunity You're just taking away opportunities for new faces to be discovered And like why Yeah I do see Switch with his hand up though Switch what's going on Hey Devon, is it kind of like how some Fans are now like That are too old to really perform Up to standard like bands like KISS And I think the stones or someone else may have Just recently like sold their likeness To still continue to tour but in Avatar form You know like KISS will really no longer be going out on the road Doing concerts but rather their avatars will You know I think that's going to be a new trend with bands that are like those Like the who and the you know classic bands The Eagles and you know that people are just too old to really do it anymore But still walk that They don't want to lose that catalog or that IP you know Yeah absolutely And honestly like there's different technologies coming out every day That's going to make that more and more viable Like hologram technology has advanced rapidly since the whole two pocket Coachella Like now they're getting to the point where they have Laser lights that the laser can stop at a certain distance which is I don't really understand how it works Specifically like travels until something interrupts it But now they can like I don't know have a measured beam It was really cool but yeah Definitely that's where the technology currently is Actors are definitely going to be doing that Here shortly if not already But What's everyone doing? I'm not sure if you're going to be doing that Not already But what's everyone doing today? Oh a bunch of bow business Websites of course And getting ready for our big bow auction That we're going to go live from the swag drop at DDNYC Kickin it off Grabbing a little bit of mine share it at the start And sharing all the cool atmosphere and the discovery The unboxing You know is going to be legendary And yeah auctioning off Some of the stuff in there for people in the room And also remote bids will be accepted So a little bit of preparation for that And we also have a raffle that we're running up all the way to DDNYC With an OG box of awesomeness and Gary V1 On the table there So yeah a lot of bow business going on right now Very successful collaboration with the Wazeez And we're going to go live in the Wazeez Very successful collaboration with the Wazeez This Wednesday That's awesome That was awesome Do you have a post for the auction in raffle Do you want to pin that to the top? I do I will pin it to the top Thank you Yeah absolutely I think that's a great opportunity for everyone It's going to make a lot of excitement at the event On top of the excitement that everyone's going to be experiencing
