Good night, good evening, good morning.
Whatever it is, I assume the time is pretty far off of that.
Did you actually quite far off in the world right now, aren't you?
How are you?
What time is it where you are at now?
Eh, where are you, Frisk, can you hear me?
I can hear you.
You can hear you a lot and clear, actually.
Amazing.
I don't want to dox my location, Frisk.
I know if you notice, but privacy is a big thing right now.
So I'm not going to reveal the time of my location
because people will then know where I live.
And I don't want that, dude.
I don't know how to break this to you.
I think it's already pretty well known where you live.
Um, yeah, dude, maybe, but it's like, yeah, it's night for me.
OK, cool.
We'll leave it pretty broad like that.
No one's going to be able to track down the deep now.
Shout out privacy.
Speaking of privacy, we have some things to talk about
on the ZEC front this week.
That's probably the biggest news I've seen my timeline talk about.
A lot of things as well too, like just in general,
but got to start somewhere, of course.
Today, actually, why don't we start with?
I want to talk about the badge that you're
wrapping right now, Frontier traders.
I want to know a bit about it.
I want to know a bit about how you got not only how you got the badge,
but like what it is and why I should care about it.
As you can quite a few posts about it.
And I actually haven't gotten a badge yet.
I don't know how it's supposed to apply for it.
Or if it's too late or anything like that, but tell me Frontier
traders, what is it?
You're wrapping a badge.
You got to know at least a little bit about it.
I hope at this point.
Consider it a loyalty program, like centralized exchanges usually
have for their VIP traders.
But this is pretty much for every activity
that you're doing on chain on salana.
So yeah, that's what Frontier traders essentially is.
You'll get a lot of rewards and stuff like that.
There's a lot of perks and stuff for people who are active on chain,
especially if your volumes are across the roof.
And specifically for institutions and stuff like that.
This is for them because we have not
seen anything like this for on-chain activity.
It's something that only centralized exchanges have done.
So yeah, this is something for the people
who are active on chain on salana.
So make sure you sign up on Frontier traders.
How I got the badge is interesting.
I was, so I took an interview with them
to handle their socials.
Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut there.
But Miggy did.
So shout out Miggy.
So that's a great hire.
Yeah, it's a great hire.
Yeah, that's a great hire.
So yeah, I took an interview with them.
But yeah, I at least got the badge.
So yeah, there you go, man.
Nice.
I mean, look, I've seen a lot of people
wrapping these badge in the Philippines.
When I go on their page now, I'm
trying to see people like Chris Taylor, Simon, Ethan
Prosper, Sanjay, you, Caleb, all rocking their badge demon.
Even the media and Orca accounts are all rocking their badges.
So clearly, curved a Leon.
Miggy, of course, he got hired to add them.
Titan is rocking their badge for Fox X.
Sunrise, cheek, yeah.
Yeah, so you have the top venues on salana
that are partnered essentially with Frontier traders.
So any on-chain activity that you have across all of these top
venues on salana, it counts.
So yeah, it's perfect.
And it makes sense, right?
In a way, it's like a unionized effort.
I know if that's the right way to put it.
But yeah, different protocols are coming together.
And they have this one single initiative
to push and reward on-chain activity on salana.
So yeah, it's pretty cool, man.
And the people there are dipping this badge
are also some heavy hitters.
So I agree.
I agree with you.
Yeah.
No, no kidding.
I mean, to me, any sort of attention that
can come from just rubbing a badge with the right people
is always good marketing.
I strongly believe in that.
But yeah, this is great.
It's going to make me want to check it out more.
Everyone is talking about having a Frontier card.
So I feel like I need to get one at some point.
I know it's not like the hardest thing to do, but yeah.
No, do it ASAP because you don't want to be too late, Frisk.
OK, I'll do it today, actually.
I'll do right after the show.
Thank you for the heads up today.
Appreciate that.
Jordan, good morning.
How are you?
A little past morning, but you know, hi.
Good morning.
Yeah, good early afternoon.
Good evening to people in other times
on this or night or anything.
I'm clearly doing fine.
Little disappointed today.
Yeah, I've already done hours of work
and not had enough coffee.
But here, let's talk about things.
Where's everybody?
What the hell's going on?
This is just how things are now.
It doesn't surprise me anymore.
How was your week in Avax?
Yo, not only was my week in Avax good,
I feel like Avax's week in Avax was good.
For people who don't know AvaLanche had a little summit,
and they did a very nice job with it.
It was two days in New York City.
And like a pretty swanky space packed with like 2K people,
really cool room, lots of talks and announcements,
which like the announcements kept surprising me.
And I'm like, Jordan, it's a freaking, it's a blockchain.
They're doing a summit, of course,
they need a lot of announcements to come out of it.
Like that's like one of the KPIs, right?
But hell, I'm more bullish on AvaLanche.
I, from this, apps like easily were bullish on AvaLanche.
It's interesting, I haven't been for a while,
which if Vaux was responsible and here hosting the space,
I wouldn't say, but she's not here, so screw it.
But they have felt a little aimless for a while,
like what is their identity, what are they doing,
what's the plan, and I don't think any blockchain succeeds
without a very clear identity and execution
around a key differentiating factor, right?
And so they have kind of recently come strongly back.
It feels like to be original vision of just like,
onboarding with their L1s, blockchains
for a really important, large valuable purposes.
But in the last few days,
they announced what South Korea is using them.
Was it Saudi Arabia or it's another prominent
and midi economies using them?
The New York Stock Exchange is building on them.
For you can ticket master is using them.
Now there's a lot, there were a lot of, a lot going on
and it all feels very focused around this singular purpose.
Whether that makes number go up, who the fuck knows?
But it will make them money as a company, right?
So, you know, yeah, those are my thoughts.
I think there's also like, it's at a time
where there's a lot more upheaval in established players.
Like, I don't know what Salana's version of that is
at the moment, you know what I mean?
And like Robin Hood is messing with base
and Salana really substantially.
So it feels like there's a bit of a void
for them to kind of come in and establish a niche for themselves.
When you say a bit of a niche, like, do you think
that they're going to be focusing on some sort of specific thing
in like Web 3, do you think that that's the role
that like Avalanche is playing?
Yeah, I think that Avalanche is that niche
that they're finding is clearly they've got
very capable institutional and nation state level BD.
And to just be like, yeah, guys, like you go,
you know, do you mean coins, you're whatever,
like we're going to onboard national economies
and gigantic, you know, companies and institutions
to use our chain as their kind of on chain settlement.
Like, I don't know enough to comment on it enough.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Man, Tom, like, is that good?
I, you know, I don't know.
I do depend on you to find good, right?
But it seems like something that they're doing a good job
of starting to like own.
I agree.
And you know what?
The reality is that when you find your niche in a space,
like crypto, which has so many different things
that you can, you know, what's the look of over here?
Which has different things that you can look at
and I guess like hit tackle.
Like we have seen so many different people try to pin
a whole like chains and layer wants to be the specific thing.
Even Robohood trying to tell itself
as the RWA chain, Slana, people try to tell it
as the meme coin chain.
Now we have what do you call it?
What's what's what's the only problem?
Is he cash being the privacy chain?
And it's good to have something that like you know
is working and you know that is like attracting the like
people who have a specific interest in that use case
for a chain.
But at the end of the day, in my opinion,
the people that are going to build on your chain
is the thing that's what is going to attract people.
It's not the messaging you make about that chain.
Sure, you can say that each one has different juices
for different like cases and that sort of stuff,
but it's not going to matter what the builders
that are doing stuff on top of that chain.
Right.
And then what you want to look at is
so a niche is a mode, right?
Like and a mode is like cool.
So you've got a business and you've got a certain,
you know, the thing that you're selling, right?
How easy is it for you to defend that?
As in, could someone else come and do it
and take customers that you would get
and then said the other people get that, right?
And then you can't kind of defend your position.
Like that's, this is large scale business strategy.
And so this has been, I think an issue for so long
this whole time that they were kind of sitting high
and mighty at the top of their castle
without really realizing that like their castle
didn't have walls in that like, yeah,
they were the place for mean coins,
but mean coin traders are the most disloyal
fucking degenerates in the entire year.
Like they don't care where they're trading.
They just want to trade where the liquidity is
that they can dump on, right?
And run shit up on.
And so the moment that was on Robin Hood,
by Solana, right?
Like, oh, there's one back on Solana.
Cool, we're back on Solana, but they don't care, right?
They just want to trade, but you on board,
UAE or South Korea or something,
like that's a fucking government.
Like they're not switching over after they've committed
and built all their infrastructure, right?
Like you're good.
Oh, exactly.
So, you know, and how do you get those people,
how would someone even try to poach them?
It's a lot of work, right?
Compared to just like, oh yeah,
we've got runners and vlod's tweeting.
I mean, the reality to me is like,
when you work, anyone who's building a chair right now
and is working to get the gunner the users,
that it is that they take into the ecosystem,
it's not as it's, I've worked with multiple chains before.
I've seen the rights, I've seen the wrongs
and the thing that is that it never shocks me
every single time after seeing,
like just how much effort gets put in to the people
that are trying to acquire users, acquire builders,
that sort of stuff, whether it be through grants,
whether it be through whatever the fuck, you know?
It takes a lot of time,
it takes a lot of fucking time and effort
to like make it happen in comfort fruition.
It's why I've been such a big believer in proponents
and like the consumer apps is the thing that goes
the furthest way.
It's the thing that matters the most.
However, you know, I look at apps right now,
like FOMO or apps like Pump Fun,
which are blurring the lines a lot
between the chains that be trade on.
And to me, that brings up a topic of should change
just be operating at a B to B level.
Is it ever anything that should have ever been
at a B to C, I mean, not ever,
but like going forward should be, you know,
something that is at a B to C level.
Like, like, it's like,
I can't, can I add here?
Probably out there.
Okay, so I was talking with an engineer
that was on the OG team at Cosmos,
he's no longer there, but we're talking this morning in depth
and Cosmos.
Yeah, and something that,
but he left through lepers similar like for reasons
that like kind of like point at what we're talking about now,
which is just the idea of like Cosmos was great
because their idea was like,
like there's gonna be need to be a bunch of L ones,
they're all need to be able to communicate, right?
And like that idea, I think, should be stamped on the foreheads
of all L one operators.
Like you cannot be the mother chain or else, fuck you.
Like basically like everybody wants that,
be the chain to rule them all.
All these L one developers want to be the biggest baddest chain
with all of the dynamics and all of the motion
and all of the liquidity,
but like that goes against the core tennis
what we came here to do,
which is decentralized these ecosystem.
And like, so you know, we want more than one blockchain,
we want them to be able to communicate clearly
and we want them to be able to service different economies
for different reasons and at different scales.
And I think like the minute we accept that as operators
and as builders of these things,
then we can actually hit the arc that we want to as far as adoption
but we're fighting in the sandbox.
So like the parents who would spend the money to come,
you know install these things are just gonna watch the kids
fight in the sandbox until it's time for dinner.
You know, and I think like,
like I don't say that to be little our industry or,
but we've got to step it up and like me and Voward talking about
the last time we're on a space with you is like,
we just step it up to a level of adulthood.
Like if we want a big bag of adult money,
we got to act like adults.
And that's like I think the hardest thing
for people that are having fun and blockchain to do
is realize that you can have fun and do business, right?
But like there is a level of decorum
to be able to get a government contract,
really get into a Fortune 500.
There's an amount of scrutiny that goes into not only the code
but the,
we lost him right, he cut out there.
Sorry I had a call, I got a call.
But yeah, but there's an all land of the plane here.
Like there's a level of scrutiny that will happen
by the government in Fortune 500 to install these things.
This is why you see a bunch of pilots,
but nothing ever happens is because like they're open to piloting,
but like to get a blockchain fully compliant on the level
that they need it,
there's still some big hurdles to overcome on the side
of the node operators,
the privacy factor in the code.
And there's been, we've made huge leaps and bounds here.
