It's like, hey, can I get pulled over and talk myself out of a ticket?
Like, I was proud of myself.
I, you know, it was very kind to the officer.
Thank you, ma'am.
Yes, ma'am.
Appreciate it.
Like, should my daughter, how to, like, it was a good event for me.
Like, I was actually glad to get pulled over with expired text
because I think my daughter might have got some real-life
alpha on how to talk yourself out of situations like that.
And that's important.
That's a life skill that everyone should, I mean,
you should hone it, but the other way to hone it is,
you gotta do something stupid to get pulled over
and then hone that skill a little bit.
So yeah, anyways, don't do that.
Don't roll the dice, but I will be driving to a fest
on a expired text.
By the way, if anyone needs a ride from a fest tomorrow,
I'll have my car there, can drop some people off downtown.
Just know that there's a chance we get arrested on the way.
That's the trade-off.
Yeah, maybe, I don't think I locked out.
It's skill.
It's a game of skill.
Like, talking to cops is a game of skill.
If you're a jerk, you're gonna get a ticket,
maybe get arrested.
Yeah.
I've got some experience here.
If you're normal human being, most of them aren't like jerks.
And if you treat them with respect,
and you're not a jerk, yeah,
you might get a ticket sometimes, but yeah, I don't.
I've got no-
I told you they're already having a bad day.
Yes.
And they don't know how to separate their job
from their own emotions.
You might end up being at the receiving end
of something not great, but otherwise pretty good.
I reminded me in divide, we're driving home.
This was I think the day after Christmas
from his parents' place, and our kid was small.
He was in a onesy pajama Christmas thing.
I don't know, maybe it was four or five.
And there's a country road where
I'm gonna speak in kilometers now.
So apologies for everyone who...
Sorry.
I am, now when I Google the weather forecast,
I actually ask Google the weather forecast for Charles.
Celcius, because my girlfriend also is
gripping his way, and he thinks Celcius as well.
So about, I don't know,
somewhere between 10 and 30 degrees.
Yeah, just pick a range, right?
Yeah, so we were driving in the speed limit,
it's 50 kilometers an hour in this thing.
And I think like divide must have been going
at least 100 maybe, like more.
Like it was well in, because everywhere else,
it's about 80 and you kind of go 100 just cause no one cares.
But then it just switched.
Anyways, a cop happened to be there.
I guess I don't know, catching whatever people
that are driving late.
And so he pulls a solver and then he shines
like the flashlight in the back.
And he sees this kid in the Christmas ones
holding a present.
And he was like, okay, you guys, you can just go.
This is like just cruel to like, you know,
because technically he was so far over the speed limit
that he could have like suspended his license.
It's been taken the car, but the cop was just like,
that's ridiculous.
It's just ridiculous, like pay attention
to when the speed limit drops and some of these roads.
It was pretty funny though, but yeah,
we didn't even need to talk ourselves out of it.
I like one look at the, at a young kid in a Christmas ones,
they holding a gift and that was enough.
So, you know, maybe pack one of those just in case.
Yes, I also, it's also worth noting that I grew up here.
If you're looking at the stream, if you're not looking
at the stream, it is a map of, it's a heat map
of the places you're most likely to get a speeding ticket
in the US.
And it's mostly like, most of the map is, is no,
nonexistent.
Then you got some very, very light blue,
like yeah, you might get a ticket like in Florida,
other certain spots.
And then you have the epicenter of speeding tickets.
That's, it's almost black.
It's so dark blue.
And it's essentially the state of Ohio.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is the absolute worst
in the country.
And like they definitely have quotas, like I don't know
what else is going on, why they give so many tickets
in Ohio, but I grew up in the worst place for,
so I got a lot of practice.
I also spent 30 days in jail for speeding.
So again, do what I say, not what I do.
Don't drive fast.
Make sure you renew your tags when time comes.
And it's not worth spending 30 days in jail for.
And yes, Monday show right now is titled,
Eight Fest Alpha and Full Recap.
Subject to be changed to a resident Charleston.
Like this is, I'm sure I won't get arrested
because my girlfriend's with me, but if she wasn't,
that would be, you know, it might be a coin flip.
That would be in the range of you.
You brought like a real plus one to eight fest.
That's exciting.
First time ever.
Yeah, first time ever.
But yes, a real real plus one.
I also yesterday out her, I mentioned like,
I went out a little ray.
And I said, yeah, I bring my girlfriend.
And please so to everyone else, please like do me a favor
and where do you order it?
Take a shower, brush your teeth.
Please, please, where, please, where do you order it?
And she's didn't know this, but she's on her way
to work her state listening to the show.
And she's like, now your friends are gonna think,
like, I'm some stuck up, like, like, no, no.
She's kind.
She won't, she wouldn't deal with it
if you were stinky talking to us.
I would not and I would be embarrassed for you.
I say all that, guess what I realized
I ran out of this morning out her.
Are you kidding me?
Ha, ha, ha.
Yeah, my God, that's classic.
I put in my doater and then like the,
into the bar just falls off.
And I'm like, oh, Jesus Christ, karma is real today.
So yeah, I may or may not make muddies tonight
the opening event because I am driving
and I also have to pack after the show.
Maybe you could probably guess that.
But then, yeah, we're gonna have to have at least one stop
at CBS or Walgreens on the way.
Well, once you're like, I wanted to ask you what,
I mean, having gone to a bunch of the OG Apes and you've been
to like, I think all of these,
what is like your personal sentiment
towards this gathering given like OG holder,
still have your ape, I'm just curious.
And this isn't your first event.
It might be for a bunch of people.
And this isn't like, oh, I'm coming back
after missing a bunch like you're a regular.
Are you excited?
Are you kind of like, this is like a right of passage
and I have to go because I've gone to all the things.
I love to get like your kind of sentiment
and take on this one.
Yes, I am excited.
I am, I mean, I genuinely am excited
to for my girlfriend to meet a bunch of my internet friends.
And she's been very supportive of all that I do.
And she understands it.
She understands it, but doesn't.
Like she's, you know, this, I'm doing my best
to like set some sort of expectation
that it'd probably be the most diverse,
eclectic group of people you've ever been in
and a crowd like that.
You know, you will have people that probably
haven't showered, not wearing a geodaran
and then know how to introduce to Adam,
like a real life billionaire.
Like it's, it's, and then there'll be some skater dude.
And then, you know, it's like there's,
it's a really ding-strusting,
extremely diverse group of people
from all over the world.
And so excited for her to meet my friends.
You see what she thinks about it?
Like she's been supportive,
but she's definitely not been like a merst in the space.
So like I'm, first of all, as excited as I am for Apes,
I'm also kind of excited for the drive back.
And like, okay, now what'd you really think?
Like, are you gonna tell me I need to go get a job?
See that needs to be a spaces on itself.
Like your recap with your girlfriend on the way back,
you should just air that.
That would be so good.
Maybe that's it.
Maybe maybe we do a Sunday special on the drive back.
Also speaking of my girlfriend, I have to,
I know we've talked a lot about Arapas here on the show.
Big fan, it's the go-to, I did have one for breakfast
this morning as per usual.
Me and Duke both.
But I don't know if we've talked about Mandukas before.
Are you familiar with Mandukas?
No, does it involve eggs?
Cause I'm in.
I don't believe so.
Okay, then never mind.
If it like, literally if it's eggs, I'll be in.
It's like a mini Venezuelan donut with...
Oh, it's like a sugar thing?
Well, it's not loaded with sugar.
It has that cheese in it and then cheese on it.
And they really like their cheese.
But yeah, I don't, I didn't see any sugar in it.
It's just, they're like, yeah, I don't have no idea how it's made actually.
But I don't think it's sugar.
It's just donut type.
I'm doing a horrible job explaining it.
That's pretty good.
It's pretty good.
Joey, I apparently has been offline all week.
He has his eight fastest weekend.
Yes.
Why haven't I left yet?
It's not a roll, man.
I don't, I was gonna be here for the show today.
So, I mean, it has to saturday.
There were side events last night.
There was bullying, shot out in a cavelle,
and everyone who had a hand in that.
There was a waffle house late night get together.
And then today, you know what,
I'll just pull up the schedule to kind of go through this.
And I will answer your question.
I am excited.
She's my words carefully here.
I'm excited.
This is also like Figgie's first eight fast, right?
Garga is not gonna do that.
Oh, Garga is expecting.
Did you see this or his wife is expecting?
Yeah, I did.
So, you know, am I excited to get a Charleston
as I was Hong Kong?
No.
But I'm excited to experience people's studio
for the first time.
Excited to see my friends from around the world.
Excited to introduce my girlfriend to people.
And I'm excited for updates.
I genuinely, I know the team has been working really hard.
And I've been beating the drum or requesting,
critiquing, providing feedback that I would love
more updates between eight fasts.
And last year, the eight fasts updates
were really well received.
They, they, they, they've lived with the 24, seven,
a parallel store.
They have, you know, I know they've been working
on the anime.
I know they've been, I believe they've been working
on the clubhouse.
I have feeling they've been working on other things as well.
Well, we did get a glimpse of like the member directory.
We got to preview that.
I'm really, genuinely, really excited for that.
It might be something, you know, a little nice to have.
But like as a, I, I just, again, I'm excited
because I care about the club.
I like the brand and I'm excited.
Like I feel as if, so like,
Ficky came in, I think in April,
or at least he became official in April.
So, May, June, July, August, September,
like five, six months.
And so I feel as if there was pro,
even though he was on the team before,
I feel there was probably guessing that this is like,
okay, you know, six months is a good time
to like get your feet under you.
But it's also, while I have one of updates
and, you know, more of an idea of what,
you know, what's going on behind the scene,
you know, some fun mini games,
some activations, some stuff to do
for the community in between Apes Fest,
in between the big swings.
Yeah, I'm kind of anticipating something there, right?
Like what, you know, an update here,
in addition to the stuff you know,
here's some other, because every year,
there's been some sort of surprise in the light, right?
There's been some unexpected thing,
whether it was the musical acts or, you know,
Apes chain gets launched or, you know,
so I'm guessing there will be some
surprise in the light moment, maybe multiples.
And, but what I think I'm most excited for
is I feel as if this could be like the start
of the next chapter.
Does that make any sense at all?
I'm not.
No, it is, yeah, it totally makes sense.
But it is like talk out loud for the first time about it.
Like I think this could be, look more of a glimpse into,
here's what to expect, not just from Yuga
and other side and Apes chain, but the club.
You know, I'd ask Figgie directly, like, do you,
you know, will they be backfilling Jeff Nicholas
and then Dave Evans, like that role
of like someone leading the club?
And you know, he said, no, it's,
there's a free structure and we thought things like that's,
you know, he's ultimately leading the club.
And so that's exciting.
And I think maybe, I mean, hoping, expecting,
we get more of a glimpse of like what that might look like
for, you know, the 11 months between 8thests,
if that makes sense.
You should have stopped.
If you see a rapist on a food truck,
you should stop and get some.
They are typically as good as you would get, like, homemade,
but they are worth experiencing if you have not yet.
That schedule though, let me zoom out here
so everyone can see it.
Shit.
This is, so I mentioned yesterday,
they had the board Lebowski, the boy divot,
and then Waffles at midnight.
Today the pop up shop opens as well as board and hungry.
That's 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Charleston Union Station.
Paintball takes place this morning from 9 to noon,
have fun out there, good luck, board and lit.
Not exactly sure what that is,
but session one and session two takes place from noon to 3.30,
ladies afternoon, high T from 2 to 4,
then the sunset, welcome drinks.
This is an official event.
You can see the red events or community events,
the black ones are official events.
That's it, muddies.
I'm gonna attempt to make that,
TBD, whether I actually make it or not.
8th sector dark is the event we talked about,
profits associated and there's also poker tournament
after later tonight.
I'm not gonna make the purple shirt,
my also found it's a little bit north,
and I'm staying a little bit south of the city.
But then Saturday we wake up 8 balls,
goes from 10.30 to 130,
builders brunch from noon to 2,
tailgate with stonkbrokers from noon to 4.
So my plan is gonna do builders brunch
for the first half of the Ohio State Indie Enigame.
